~ Ella & Hunter ~
"ELLA, I NEED HELP!" Hunter screamed, slamming the door.
"I WILL BE DOWN IN A SEC!"
"ELLA NOW!"
"ELLA!"
"I'M COMING!" Ella yelled down ending her call.
"Jeez, what is with all the yelling? I was on a call with Queen Ophelia about the allies she had gained—"
Ella was used to Hunter being impatient, and she was ready to shout back at him for never just coming up to her room when he wanted to show her something. Usually, a new spell or to complain about doing paperwork. However, she nearly fell down the last few steps of the spiral staircase as she saw Lucy, out cold in his arms. Covered in flesh wounds, and bloody. Her arms were deeply sliced open Ella was worried you could see her bone. One of her wrists was covered in a worn-out bandage, and the other one was purplish and looked like it need to bandage up too. The blood leaked through her shirt making the red color of the sweater turn black around her waist and stomach. Hunter looked like he ran into a bear. With his armor now dented and his undershirt shredded in multiple places and only stuck to his torso because of sweat. His hair had twigs and leaves sticking out of it.
"What happen are you ok; is she breathing?!" Ella asked, taking her from him, and checking for a pulse.
"Raven's minions happen. They ambush her in the Shimmering forest," Hunter answered panting, pulling his hand away from the loose, quick bandage around her neck. His hand was covered in red, "Jackie stab her in the throat I try to bandage it quickly, but I didn't have enough wrapping on me and she was losing too much blood. I had to hope it was enough and get her help." He explained as his knees tremble.
"Who attacked her? Was she alone? Where were you? How did she get discovered? why does she have both halves of the Heart gem?"
"Ella, too many questions; I got a killer headache. Take her to the critical room I will meet you in a sec," Hunter groaned, stumbling into the kitchen that was connected to the living room.
"Will do, drink a lot of fluids to increase your energy."
"Got it, nurse," Hunter said winking at her, while he grab a glass.
💖
"Ella what are you doing!" Hunter yelled as he saw Ella pull out a needle.
"Calm down. I need to do a blood test to see what potion is safe to use. Her blood system is mostly made up of human blood; since her body adapted when she was in the human realm. So, it will take a while for her body to produce Gemanina blood and the equal amount of mana that royals produce daily," Ella explained.
"You should start studying the spells that help you read DNA and pain levels they really come in handy."
"Maybe, I will when Ophelia is visiting she is the best teacher with that," He replied as he fell into a coughing fit.
"You ok, were you injured too?" Ella asked patting his's back.
"I'm fine I just used up too much energy and my body is taking a toll," He groaned as his headache returned.
Ella eyed him with a concerned look before ripping out the blood test result.
"What is taking so long just give her an energy potion?"
"I will chill; my mother was our kingdom's best doctor and she trained me. I have to analyze the potions with how they react to Lucy's blood," Ella said taking an eyedrop and placing samples of her blood on slides.
"I can't chill you said you were going to help her and you are taking your grand old time!"
"I am trying to work quickly, but I can't rush this if I use a potion that her body can't handle it could worsen her injuries."
"Can you at least do a healing spell while we wait?"
"I already tried one I was studying, before you came, but I don't know if it made a difference."
"Can you try it again...please," He begged.
"Maybe, you should rest I am reading a lot of emotion, which makes sense I am worried about her too, but we can't rush this."
"Can you not read me and just try the healing spell again, then I will shut up."
"Sorry it's hard to block out intense emotions and thoughts, also I don't believe that, but I will."
💖
I felt a rush of energy come through my body as someone laid their hands on my chest.
"Her wounds are glowing you did it!"
"Don't celebrate yet, I am losing it I haven't mastered it," Ella pointed out as she struggled to keep Lucy's wounds glowing.
"Thanks for trying again." He replied.
"Sorry I couldn't complete it," Ella sighed as the light flicked out around Lucy.
Sighing in defeat Ella turned back to analyzing the blood samples.
"Ella! Come back over here," He exclaimed pulling Ella away from the counter.
"Damn it, Hunter, that was the only bottle of that potion," Ella said picking up the broken bottle.
"Sorry, but it doesn't matter if the spell work. Look she is waking up," He announced while he grabbed Lucy's twitching hand. Come on wake up.
"Her pulse is back to normal and it seems like the healing took away some of her pain."
"Thanks for helping he—Lucy!" He cheered as the girl gasped, flying her eyes open.
"Lucy, how are you feeling?" Ella quietly asked.
"She looks really confused," Hunter stated.
"Well, you would be fuzzy too if you lost the amount of blood and oxygen that she did," Ella added.
💖
Ugh, my head is killing me.
"Lucy, can you hear us?"
She stared down at her right arm and then back at the two voices.
"Can you hear us little L?"
"W—w—hat are you doing to me?" Lucy asked under her breath as she ripped out the IV that was in her arm.
"Whoa, Lucy don't do that," Ella said grabbing the IV, before the girl dropped it.
"GET AWAY WITCH!" Lucy yelled slapping the needle out of Ella's hand and leaving the scene.
"Jeez, what was that? What just happen?" Hunter asked helping Ella up.
"I read her, before she rushed out it seem like her mind is trapped in the memory of the attack."
"So, she thinks she is still captured?" He asked.
"Yes, but it's not just her thoughts it's also her nerves so approach her slowly. Don't spook her or she might hurt you or herself, and I don't think either of you can handle another fight."
"That potion I dropped was the best choice to use, so I am going to make another dose, and you lover boy go get your girl."
"She isn't my girl," He muttered under his breath.
"Sure" she isn't," Ella rolled her eyes, before teleporting.
