Episode One : Case #35

"𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐞"

{ Chapter One }

March of 1980
Rudenford Town

A little boy's PoV

I held down my breath while my heartbeat started beating rapidly. Suddenly a loud bang rang across the lonely hall. One of the locker vault have been hit down with a powerful force. I gasped.

"You cannot hide from me little guy", the sound of footsteps echoed, "Your friends are dead. Your parents are worried but they cannot find you. What are you gonna do?" The unidentified man said.

Just then another loud noise echoed across the hall. I took out my pen and awaited to attack him in self-defense. And soon the locker opened up but only to witness an unexpected face.

"You!?", I said in a shocked expression.

But it was too late, as blood drops started to fall down on the pristine floor and in the mirror I saw my reflection but something is strange. It was smiling with a satisfying look.

"What in the world has happened!?"

Mark's PoV

"How far is he?", I asked.

"Probably out of the state", Edward replied.

The room became silent again and the atmosphere became tense. We both looked at each other and then back at Reyes who was staring at the wall in front.

"Do you want to have a cup of tea?", I asked Edward, trying to diffuse the tension.

"Um. No thanks", he said and started to become impatient. His right foot was tapping the floor as he started to become frustrated.

I looked back at Reyes hoping for him to hurry up. Because I know for the fact that Edward cannot tolerate Reyes and today he was forced to take his help by his seniors. The case Edward brought was of a criminal Jamie who escaped the prison 3 days ago. Since, Jamie has connection with the underworld, Edward thinks that he might have escaped back to Italy.

But his superiors otherwise believe that Jamie is still on the city and so forced Edward to take the help of Reyes in order to crack the case.

"Okay, that's it!", Edward stood up, "I am leaving. He failed for the first time and is wasting my time too".

"I am not wasting your time. Your culprit Jamie is in the city. The evidence you provided I inspected it. The last time he was captured on a camera showed him carrying out a luggage with him and that too was taken near the sea dock. After which he disappeared...According to you", Reyes glanced at Edward.
