We made our way into the dining room, the clothes, tins of polish and the silver wear, were already on the dining table waiting for us. I walked round to the left side of the dining table and grabbed a cloth, I then opened up the tin of polish and dipped the cloth into it. I then began polishing a silver candlestick. I was so invested in my work, I completely forgot that Amy, was in the room with me. I looked up from what I was doing, only to find Amy perched on the edge of the table with her back to me and her phone in her hand tapping away on it. I scoffed to myself, as I threw the cloth I had in my hand, at her back, causing her to jump up off the dining table and turn around sharply. "Oi you, wha' ya do tha' for?!". She said annoyed.
"We're meant to be working, not lazying about". I replied. As I grabbed another cloth of the sideboard. Amy picked up the cloth, I had previously thrown at her and she threw it back at me, the cloth hitting me in the chest. "Yeah well it's a good job I've got you 'ere for that then haven't ah". She replied, with a smug smile, before returning her attention back to her phone. "Er no, you needn't think I'm doing all this on me own, so get off ya arse, put tha' phone down and get some bloody work done will ya!". I snapped, slamming my hand, that had the cloth in it down onto the table. "'Who ya talkin' t'!?". Amy snapped back. "You, now are you gonna help me or not?". I asked once more, throwing the cloth she had previously thrown at me back at her, before I began to clean the candlestick and decided to eventually ignore anything else, she had to say and just continued on with cleaning.
Amy finally gave in and grabbed the cloth I had given her, she placed her phone in her bra and she then, began to help me clean the silver wear. We both cleaned in silence, not a single peep out of the pair of us, for what seemed about an hour. Suppose that's normal for us though, especially since myself and Amy don't really have much in common, as much as people would like to think we have. She's always sneaking out of the house to go partying, or spending time with Nick, or attending beauty pageants. Noah is the same, except the sneaking out and beauty pagent part, he goes out with friends after school and he also plays football on a weekend for his school's team. Where as me, I'm how would you say the boring child, never really go out anywhere, other than to friends houses, once in a while and I don't have a boyfriend so, what else is there to do I suppose.
The long silence was broken, by Amy's phone buzzing, she then dropped the cloth on the table and got her phone out of her bra and looked at it. She then began grinning from ear to ear like a cheshire cat. Then without saying a word, she scurried towards the door and left the room, leaving the door slightly ajar behind her. "Hey!". I shouted after her, but she chose to ignore me. I scoffed to myself, as I couldn't believe what she has just done, but I shortly forgot about it and continued to polish. Once I had finished my own polishing, as well as Amy's polishing, which I shouldn't have to have done, but oh well. I placed every item back to where I remembered it all went, from when I used to come here years ago. I just hope to god that they haven't changed any of there locations, as it is a massive chore to move them all by myself, especially when some of them are heavy.
After placing them all back into the correct places. I folded up the cloth and placed it on the dining table. Sighing out loud to myself, as I wiped my brow and placed my hands onto my hips, throwing my head back to look at the ceiling for a moment, before I brought my gaze back to the silver wear, as I was admiring my work. I then left the dining room and went to go and find the others, as they would all probably be gathered in the kitchen gossiping, as that's the only place where they can slag Lady Hazelwood off, where she couldn't hear them, as she hardly goes down into there, as she says a kitchen is not a place for a lady, honestly stuck up cow what she is. As I was making my way back out through the corridors, I began to wonder where on earth Amy had scarpered off to, who could have text her for her to grin the way she did.
