"I told you a boy did it." That was what her teachers told her every time she tried to show them her work. It was what was told to her every time she was smarter than the other boys in her class. "Your father must've told you that." "Your brother is so smart for that answer." She had enough. All this talk of her brother or father coming up with all the answers she thought of herself. That's why she trained in both physical combat and mental combat as well. She trained day in and day out in her tiny apartment.
One night, Elide was out with some friends in a bar. Her "friends" as she called them, had abandoned her to go and sit in the laps of some wealthy man. Idiots, she thought as she made her way to leave. Drunken idiots. They could find a new ride home. Elide thought as she left the smelly bar.
