Broken laughter echoed through the prison as Aelin was dragged to the interrogation room. She couldn't stop laughing. The cops didn't know what to do with her. "She killed an innocent," The chief said. "She should have a quick trial and then prison. Nothing more, nothing less." But not everyone agreed, so here she was in the interrogation room.
"Why did you kill Arobynn Hamel?" One of the guards demanded. "He was such a nice man." They asked her all sorts of questions like this but, the only answer they got was more of that broken laughter.
The next morning, they found her dead. No one knows how she died, but they figured out why she killed him. He had abused her, for years. And she was to do whatever he said. And when he had her Sam killed, she exacted revenge.
