"So honey, what do you want to be. What powers do you want?" I ask Jeffrey.

The other day she told me she didn't want to be human so now we're at the BMH, Blood Mix House. Mostly humans come here to change into something else, either by 100% or 50% mostly.

"I want to grow and shrink just like Ernest!" She announces.

Suddenly something popped in my mind, "You like climbing trees and exploring don't you?"

She nods her head vigorously.

I smile, "What if we mixed your blood with that of a Kapre? Not to mention it suites your personality."

"Would you like to check on the machine to see what abilities she would have as well as looks depending on the percentage?" The staff worker asks behind the counter.

Jeffrey nods her head and I turned my head back to the worker, "I guess so."

She leads us down a stair way, almost like a basement. Jeffrey steps in a machine big and tall enough for one person. A screen suddenly appears in front of us displaying the percentage, abilities and appearances.

"Can I have 50%" Jeffrey asks turning towards me, puppy dog eyes activated.

I turn to the worker, "We'll have it 50%."

Later we find ourselves in a white room, Jeffrey is laying on a hospital bed. They inject blue liquid into her vies, they start to glow for a brief moment.

"Ketchup Queen, I feel weird?" Jeffrey states turning to me.

"It should last for a moment, you'll feel a series of emotions," I state before she grabs my hand.

"Promise me you won't leave?" She asks, her voice small.

"I promise golden child," I promise her as I hold her hand back.

She started feeling sad, angry, confused, scared, every emotion in the book. Eventually it was over and we purchased a book for her explaining how her type should handle their new found power. Then we visited another store that sells magic clothes, for instance: a dress that could grow and shrink if you do, a glove that doesn't burn when you activate your fire powers, etc.

"What type of clothes do you like?" I asks her as we walk in the first store.

She taps her chin with her finger, thinking for a moment, "I mostly wear boys clothes, I like that style the most. Of course I do wear girl's clothes, but that's only when the heat is too much or there's a dress code."

In result, I bought her both genders as well as her TEH uniform. Back when I was still attending TEH, the uniform was all black. Girls wore a long sleeved black dress that reach our ankles. Then we wore black boots, everything was made to withstand the cold. I suppose now they've changed it because the new days are normal, but mostly sunny. Not to mention, I had to buy her books for TEH. Speaking of TEH, that lion of hers will now also need to change, only creatures who possess powers can enter. I'll figure something out when we arrive home. Indeed, taking care of a child is a lot of work, and bills, but I am rich after all.

"Um, Rosie, could you perhaps buy me some story books?" Jeffrey asks tugging at my dress.

"We have books at home, I've read a few that are lovely stories," I comment.

"I already searched, they're not the stories I read back on Earth," she replies.

We both come to a stop, I look down at her, "Which books are they?"

A smile rapidly creeps up on her face, "Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Diary of a Wimpy Kid........"

The list went on and on, unfortunately those books were all written by pure blood humans. Books written by pure bloods of a species that's slowly dying out are the most expensive. Not to mention it has now become extremely difficult to find, even on the Black Market.
