                                                                       "cmon' jump,trust me!"

A different group of friends. Family friends. At the beach. Before the promise.

Lotte sat on a high rock, she was four. Her hair was blowing into her face. The waves lashing at the sides of the rocks. "I'm stuck!" she yelled tears welling in her eyes. She was scared. And the boys on the ground weren't helping. "Just jump!" they all yelled. "what if I hurt myself?" she yelled down, trying not to cry. "It'll be fine!" one yelled. "It's how we got down!" yelled another.

The wind stung her face.

She wound her dress around her hand nervously.

"Why haven't you jumped yet?"

Lotte looked down.

It was a very high jump,

and she was four.

"I don't want to!" she cried. "why not?" was her only response. She was crying now. "CMON" they yelled from below. Most of them were getting impatiant. which wasn't they're fault. They were four. They didn't have much patience. "Why don't you want to come down?" came a frushtrated yowl from below. Lotte was four and out of patience. She stood up and screeched "I DON'T WANT TOOO" The boys were silent. I'm just kidding, they were boys and they were four.

There was a lot of yelling.

And then one voice rose above the rest.

"cmon' jump,just trust me"

Lotte breathed in deeply. She closed her eyes. (which was stupid) And took a step towards the edge. And she fell. screaming loudly as her back scraped along the rough edges of the rock. She hit the ground and her leg's gave way beneath her. "OWW" Lotte screamed then burst into tears.

This time the boys were actually silent.

They did what any four year old kids would do in that situation.

"MOOOMMM!!!!"

They all took of running towards the adults, who were further up the beach. "MOM!"

Soon they were out of sight.

The cuts weren't deep enough to leave scars or need stiches, but they were deep enough to soak the back of lotte's dress with blood.

Let's just say,

she didn't trust those boys again.
