TWO LIVES

Have you ever wondered what the world would be like if everyone had powers? To have the ability to do whatever you want, from helping the defenseless to submerging in chaos to commit acts of villainy. You probably think this would be every kid's dream. I wouldn't blame you, I was once like that. The only difference...I don't have a quirk.

Yeah, I should probably rewind a bit. Right now, I live in a world where people have powers called quirks, these can range from literally anything, from blasting fire to even flying. There are only two problems: one, you don't get to choose what quirk you get, it is all a random genetics lottery, it depends on what your parents have, and even then leading to problem two you may not even get a quirk.

Right now, up to 80 percent of the world's population has a quirk, leaving 20 percent without one. Most of the 20 percent are the elderly and were born before the discovery of quirks. However, there are some people born after the discovery that don't even get one and these people get treated the worst. If you probably guessed, yes, I am part of the 20 percent without a quirk and yes, life is a bitch.

Ever since I found out that I was part of the 20 percent, things have gone to shit for me and my... I was harassed and bullied tirelessly up to the point where I began to go down a dark road. It's hard for me to talk about this so I'm just going to skip the whole life story for your brain's sake.

I am currently a student in the hero course at the most prestigious high school for aspiring heroes, UA high. I... have reasons for going there but just as you expected my life is still shit there.

My classmates know that I'm quirkless and are trying to wrap their heads around how in the fucking hell I got into the hero course in UA and have made it their end-of-term goal to try and get me to drop out (can you tell how much they hate me). I can't blame them as a society has already moved on into a quirk lifestyle so anyone who was discovered without a quirk is deemed a nuisance. Even the teachers took a disinterest in me just for being quirkless.

There were days when my classmates would beat me up in class and my homeroom teacher Eraserhead would downright ignore them. You would think that a teacher would do something or would be fired for not intervening. Nope, he is still around and even the principal (pro-hero Nezu by the way) didn't even care. All the teachers even had me call them sirs or mams and never by their hero names. My homeroom teacher Eraserhead who gets all the students to call him Aizawa (except me) and told me not to come to him whenever I have problems.

The sad part is that this doesn't happen just at school but even outside of school as well. One time I was walking home, and Bakugo (by the way he is an old ex-best friend of mine) bombarded me and gave me a couple of second-degree burns to remember him by. As you can tell, life as a quirkless is so fucking 'great'. And you know what's the sad part? I didn't care anymore. The pain that they 'gifted' me is nowhere near the pain I felt three years ago and trust me, you don't have the SLIGHTEST fucking clue of what I have been through.

Anyways, today I'm meeting with a client for some of the 'services' I offer. No, it's not drugs or human trafficking (I know my limits and common sense). No, the services that you get when you go to the quarantine zone that is filled with the undead. You heard me, UNDEAD, or for some, zombies. I'll save you from the story but all you need to know is that because of a particular Umbrella Corporation, a portion of Japan became "no man's land" and now I have to live in a part of the country where I might be eaten in my sleep. Can you tell how much I don't give a damn?

Back to the living side, I was in a café where the clients and I were going to meet and I had to go full incognito for this and I mean FULL. I was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, black gloves, black shoes, and a black mask. I even had to add a voice changer just to stay hidden. After waiting for an hour, my client came and sat on the opposite side of the booth.
