    Fikunayomi's pov

"Good morning Mummy Tope,  I want to buy one slice bread and three eggs." I smiled at the owner of the shop as I sat on the bench at the entrance as I brought out my phone and went straight to Instagram to check if I've been shortlisted to be casted in the movie I went to audition for.

"Ah Good morning Fikun baby, how are you this morning, happy weekend," she said grinning from ear to ear while she gets nylon to pack what I wanted to buy.

"I'm fine thank you ma, and same to you." I was still smiling but inside  me I was very shattered and sad because my name wasn't on the list...again!

"That's 500 naira," she said as I handed 1000 naira to her, then she brought out change immediately. "Thank you dear, enjoy your day." she smiled.   "Thank you ma," I said and left the shop.

As I was heading to my compound, my phone rang, as I checked the caller ID a little smile crept into my face. It was my best friend(crazy one) Dolapo.

I and Dolapo have been best friends since senior secondary school one(SS1) and we've been together since then. We went to the same university, same location for NYSC. We did almost everything together, so she's more like a sister to me. I still realized my phone was ringing as I entered my one bedroom apartment and pressed the green button on my screen.

"FIKUN.AYO!!!!! THE LIST IS OUT! HAVE YOU GONE TO CHECK IF YOUR NAME IS THERE?!" This girl and shout ehh. "Well, hello to you too dear friend." I said rolling my eyes as I jumped on my scattered bed.

"Oya sorry na, have you checked already?" she asked in a calmer tone. "Yes, I have." I said almost crying but tried to brush up not to burst out. "How far, did you get in?" she asked eagerly.

"N...no, I didn't." I said stuttering, my eyes already glossy with tears, then I used my hand to wipe the tears as I sniffed. "Oh, I'm sorry dear. What's wrong with this people sef, can't they see you've been auditioning for more than six times now, at least they should consider noww." she replied calmer.

"I...i don't know, maybe I'm not good enough, wh...what...what I..if acting is not my calling" I said  in pain and new set of tears started flowing as I sniffed harder.

"Fikky, don't say that, I know you more than anything and I know that you love acting more than anything, even me," she chuckled with made me laugh too. "Don't give up baby girl, maybe you should continue trying other auditions too, try messaging most of the Nollywood stars on Instagram and let's see. You can keep auditioning and I know that one day, one very special day, you will be chosen and the world will see your face and they will love you and call you their Favourite actress, so don't give up baby girl okay?" She said as I listened carefully.

"Okay, thank you." I replied wiping my tears again. God knows I love this girl so much and I could never trade her for anything else. She's the only one I have since my parents died in a fire accident last two years and I don't have any other family member. She looks for ways to cheer me up when I'm down."Shey I should come to your house or you will come to my house which one?" She brought me back from my thoughts and I laughed.

"Come naw, me I'm tired jare" I found myself saying. "Okay, I'm coming, cook something for me o" She answered. "Cook kor, cookies ni. Better buy what you will eat when you're coming, I'm not cooking anything for you." I said standing up from my bed going towards my kitchen to fry my egg.

"Okay na, wait and see first," she replied and I laughed. "Sha be coming, there's bread and egg." She them mumbled "better". Then the call ended.

"All these Nollywood Actor and Actresses are too proud abeeg. I don't even know what's doing them, they'll be behaving like something I don't know. Message them on social media, they won't reply you. Nonsense. Me I must make it oo, and I will make it!! I came back to reality as I finished frying my egg, then taking some slices of bread and drinking tea to step down.
