Many days passed, and Alice was now sitting on a school bench with Vlad and Robin. She was enjoying a sucker as Vlad told them about the blood exam.
"So, let me get this straight," Robin tried to wrap his around it. "They're like GCSEs, but instead of going on to do A-Levels, you get to maim and kill innocent people?"
"Exactly," Vlad confirmed. "Three more years of exams and if I pass them all, I'll become a fully-fledged vampire."
"But if you fail the test, you won't be able to fly or suck people's blood?" Alice asked.
"Great, isn't it?" Vlad asked.
"Uh, no, you'd be a rubbish vampire," Robin admitted.
"I know," Vlad agreed. "I'd almost pass as human. But if I fail, Dad'll never let me see either of you again. Our friendships will be over."
"What?" Alice gasped as she sat up more.
"Life without me is so not worth living," Robin said,
"Exactly," Vlad agreed. "So I have to pass the test. And this is where you two come in. I've never really listened to Dad's lectures about vampire culture, but you two, on the other hand, are experts."
"We are?" Alice asked in disbelief.
"I am!" Robin lit up even more. "We'll be your teacher." They soon went their separate way for classes, Vlad followed Alice since they both had math.
"I think you're out of your mind," Alice said. "We can't possibly be your teachers."
"That's where you are wrong," Vlad argued. "Robin is always watching vampire documentaries; so he's bound to know a lot...and you are always reading the books at the castle. You even took some home before."
"I wouldn't say that makes any breather an expert," Alice argued.
"As I said before, as long as I got you, I'll be fine," Vlad assured. "Plus, that good luck charm."

After school, Alice was going to check on her older siblings with Robin, Chloe, and Vlad.
"Getting ready to pick your football teams?" Alice asked.
"Yeah," Pauk answered as they looked back at them. "Hey, Robin, do you fancy trying out?" Robin seemed annoyed. "No, I forgot, you don't play football."
"You'd rather be a sad vampire geek all your life," Ian added. They both laughed.
"Ignore them, Robin," Chloe advised.
"Please," Robin gruffed. "As if I care, I'd rather be a vampire geek any day than a sports freak like those two." He looked at Vlad; who was not focused. "Stop worrying! Vampires are my thing. I know everything there's need to know." He nudged Vlad. "With me on your side, you can't fail." Chloe went home after school, while Alice and Robin went up to help Vlad at the castle.
Robin put in his fake teeth, flopped his cloak, and spoke with an accent. "Okay. Ask me ze first question."
"What have I told you about that accent?" Zoltan asked.
"Sorry," Robin apologized as he took out the teeth. "Just trying to add a bit of atmosphere."
"First question, Zoltan," Alice requested, she was sitting behind Robin; on the bed.
Zoltan cleared his throat. "If Boris can turn into a wolf in three seconds, and Inga can turn into a bat in five seconds, how long would it take Boris and Inga to storm a peasant dwelling and drink the blood of everyone inside?"
