Storm's Prov.

I feel at home deep in my beloved woods. No one can touch me here. I am invincible while in my safe haven but when I step out of this place I face death. It looks me right in the eye and each time I feel as if it is getting closer. As if I make one wrong move I'll become no more than memory. A legend as people call me but I am no more than a simple human. Sure I have gifts but these gifts are also curses. I didn't have a choice. I didn't get choose what I wanted to do with my life. Maybe I wanted a family: a mother, a father, a child, or someone to grow old with. That could never happen. It would be to dangerous to have a family with my gifts. People would try to use them for their personal gain. So here I am in the one place I can call home.

As I climb from tree to tree I become part of the woods. I blend in as if it was my natural habitat. I stop for a moment and close my eyes enjoying the bird's song but then I hear something that is unfamiliar. Using one of my special "gifts" I concentrate on it. I hear a faint pair of feet walking and as I listen I realize that this person was very skilled at walking almost silently; any normal person would not have heard it but then again I was never normal. I snap eyes open and jump to another tree to get closer to the sound. I look down and get a sense of déjà vu as I see a man in a white cloak walking in my woods. Unlike the last time I saw this he had the hood down. My heart swells with both hope and happiness thinking it was Ezio but as I look closely I see that this person has short hair. Knowing Ezio would never cut his hair so short made my heart drop with disappointment then quickly the disappointment is replaced by curiosity.

I study the man before me watching as he walks through my woods looking at everything with curiosity as if he's never seen woods before. I tilt my head watching as he closes his eyes and listens. I wait to see what this strange man does next. Suddenly he snaps his eyes open and looks around making me relies that he senses me, the same way Ezio did. I don't move from my position knowing that if he looked up he could see me.  But I also knew that if something were to happen I could easily kill him. Then he does just as I expected him to do, he looks up. The first thing I notice about him is the hidden blades on his wrist letting  me know that he is an assassin or a assassin gave them to him. Then I move my gaze across his body noticing the defined muscles hidden beneath the cloak. Finally my gaze settles on his face, he is a handsome man and greatly resembles Ezio. A cousin maybe?

I jump down from my place in the tree and land on the balls of my feet. I look up at the man watching as he looks me over. I smirk under my cowl knowing that he can't see anything but my eyes.

"Who are you and what are you doing in my woods?" I ask suddenly angry realizing this man had no right to be on this property. I quickly mask the anger and replace it with a calm voice. The man seems shocked by my rudeness but dismisses it and answers my question.

"I am here looking for a women. She goes by the name of Storm. Do you know were I could find her?" Shocked by his words I felt my mask of calmness slip but quickly change my emotion back to calm. On the inside I was very curious. How did this man know about me? He must have been told one of those stories, the ones were I helped the assassins. That part of my life was over. I served my purpose and now I am done.

"No, I have not. Why would you look in the middles of the woods for a woman? Now I suggest you get off my land before we have a problem," I said quite rudely but I was threatened, no one had come this close to finding me except Ezio and it took him years to track me down.

"I meant no trouble I am very sorry for going on your land. If you could point me in the direction of the nearest town I will be on my way." I tilt my head curious abut this man and knowing I needed answers as to how he came so close as to finding me. I look into his eyes and try to find anything to be cautious of but find nothing that could lead me to any harm.

"I will take you," I find myself saying then narrow my eyes wondering why on earth I would say such a thing.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, I have some business there anyway. Come let's go," I lie. I don't have any business. Hell I haven't been in a town for at least a year now but he didn't need to know that.

"If you say so." I start to lead him through the woods planning on getting my answers as to how he found me.

"What is your name?" I ask starting with a simple question to get him comfortable around me.

"Desmond." One simple name made me almost choke on my own spit. Desmond. The name brought up so any memories. The name haunts me in my dreams. This is the name that I have spent almost half my life protecting.

"What did you just say?" I ask making sure I wasn't just hearing things.

"I said my name was Desmond. Why? Is there something wrong?" I needed to get out of here. Quickly. I felt as if my world just came crashing down on top of me.

"No, it is nothing but I think you should continue on your own from here," I say not wanting to spend another minute with a man I spent most of my life fighting to protect.

"Why? What is it?"

"Nothing. Nothing now go if you keep going straight you will come upon a road go right and you should hit a town," I say wanting him out of my safe haven as soon as possible. He shakes his head and moves closer to me. If it was anyone else they would have a stab wound for just thinking they could get that close to me but then I would have wasted most of my life. I glare at him warning him that if he comes closer he will pay.

"Tell me why you have changed your mind and then I will go." This brings out the storm within. I will not negotiate. He will leave when I say not the other way around. I think furiously.

"I will not be told what to do by you. Let alone someone who is trespassing on my land. Leave now or there will be consequences," I say in a dark voice showing just how angry I am.

"All you have to do is tell me why." By this point there is no reasoning with me. I am purely controlled by anger and any wrong move could end badly and not for me.

"And all you have to do is mind your business. Now go before I make you," I say trying to get control over my anger and his constant nagging isn't helping. Suddenly a light bulb seems to go through his brain and his eyes loose their challenging look.

"You are very right," Of course I am, "You have been very kind to me and I thank you for that," He says defeated.

"You're welcome. Goodbye now," I say before turning and jogging into the woods. I climb a tree and watch as he looks at the place I once was. He turns and walks the way we were headed. I turn getting ready to leave the man but turn back. Sighing I make up my mind, I needed answers and the only one to give them to me is this strange man walking through the woods.  Lets see if this Desmond was worth risking my life for. I think deciding that I would regret it if I didn't I follow him using the trees  I keep a far enough distance so that he could not sense me.
