The boy's voice made her shiver, it was a perfect in between, cold but welcoming. Nine didn't moved or spoke, she was... analyzing, since she got here most people seemed to be watching her carefully, waiting for any mistake. Nine assumed that it was to get her kicked out, after all those people where sure that she was blessed, the only reason Nine knew she wasn't was thanks to her master. So of course her first analyze of the situation was that this pink haired girl tricked her into coming here in this quiet isolated place so they could finish her quietly. After all she was older then Nine and it wouldn't be surprising for her to wish to take her spot. But before her mind could ramble more, the taller girl spoke again.

"No need to be so formal One, you're gonna scare her !"

The boy sighed and indulged, he turned around and finally faced her fully, he offered her a reassuring smile before speaking again, his voice softer this time.

"I'm sorry, please sit, we have no interest in harming you. Actually we would like you to be apart of our... group"

The pause he marked during his sentence made Nine suspicious, she couldn't help it in this place she needed to always be on her guard, she had learned that quickly when she arrived here. However, looking at this group they all seemed older, and what seemed to be the leader was a close pawn of Edrea. So there was a big chance for them to be a group of "guards", the kind of group who watch over the other kids, the privileged group that has the scientists trust. If it was their case, she couldn't let the opportunity pass, if she wanted to escape this hell she would need to be trusted. And so, she sat down, trying to look as interested as she could but also as serious as she could. Child aren't usually taken seriously, and while Nine consider she might be smarter then them, her appearance gave the wrong idea. Now that she was sat down, the two other girls she noticed when she first entered turned toward her, the boy spoke again.

"I'm gonna be honest right away because i believe you have the same intentions as us..."

He marked a pause, studying the youngest carefully, he did said he was going to be direct and honest, but he needed to be sure the new girl could be trusted. While he knew her intention was the same, he needed to know if she was the kind of person he was looking for. But starring in her empty eyes didn't gave him more clues, however he had studied her before, and he decided that she was worth a try.

"We have one goal, escaping"

And at that sentence, Nine raised her head in honest interest, she studied him back, was he lying ? Was it a test ? Was he trying to see if she would betray Edrea. How can she know ? The men noticed her suspicions and smiled, he expected that, and he was glad it happened. She was smart, and while it can seem like a normal reasoning, coming from someone in this place it is a sign of maturity, of understanding. This girl understood that this place was dangerous and therefore she wouldn't risk anything, it is an important part of the qualities One was looking for.

"In this room, you will find every single person who, like you and me, resent Edrea, as well as this place. In this room, we are all in the same situation, we where stolen from our families"

He began and his words once again strikes Nine's mind, all those memories where too fresh for her too be unaffected. She could still perfectly remember her parent's unbothered face, Her siblings watching in fear. She could still remember how everything started to crack when she came back from those two years in what could be called "hell".

"We lost our identity, our past"

Unconsciously, her hand went straight to her hair, softly grabbing the paper white strand between her finger and looking at it, a nauseating feeling in her stomach. The moment where her hair shined like the sun in the heat of a summer afternoon now seem so far away...

"We where robbed of a normal future, all of this so we can protect a world that never cared for us, that rejected us and doomed us to years of suffering."

She felt a burning feeling taking ahold of her, like a small flame that grow and grow until it consume everything. It was anger, a deep anger, because she knew that he was right and everyone in the room seemed to share her anger. And in a way, it was deeply comforting, she hated how much relief she felt for simply finding a group that shared her ambitions, her rage, her hatred toward everything and everyone. For once since she got out of hell, the loneliness that cling to her started to slowly disappear.

"You are one of us Nine, you have what it take to help us achieve our goal."

And in that moment, all suspicions where discarded, maybe it was fate who made her accept the proposal or maybe it was the feeling of stability and normality the group brought her as well as the hope of a better future. But whatever it was, she will forever believe it led her to make the right choice. She nodded.

-I'll join you, i want to escape more then anything

The boy smiled at her, and while she was sure the other only saw kindness in it, Nine was no fool. She could see more, she could see the same burning anger she had, the same hidden goal that she had, revenge. While the other where happily welcoming her, she couldn't get her eyes off the boy even as he walked away, and from what she saw, even in this group there was two kind of persons. Some of them wished to simply escape and bury the past behind them, that was the case for Two and the other girls. But for her and One... she saw it, and she carved the image deep in her mind, escaping was only a small part of his scheme. He hasn't told the other she was sure of it, and he was waiting, waiting to see if she understood, if they truly where alike. And Nine understood that she was faced with a choice, she could ignore the silent proposal, she could escape this place and hope that her family will take her back like the others where planning to do. But it was different for Nine, the others talked about their family with love and nostalgia. That's how she understood that she was nothing like them, Nine's family was part of the person who discarded her, they would never take her back, simply escaping and burying the past behind her was impossible for her, and she was sure it was the same for One. And she soon understood that whilst it seemed like he gave her a choice, she actually never had one, her only choice was to move forward, to take her revenge, she couldn't go back to the past, only the future awaited people like her. And so her decision was made, a silent agreement she shared with the boy under the clueless gaze of the three other girls.
