One: Jayden Mason

Jayden woke with a start that morning, she caught her breath and ran a hand through her messy strawberry blonde hair. It wasn't so much the dream that had her heart pounding but the strange feeling that came with it. She tried to calm down and brush it off. Today was the first day of Junior year, which meant a brand new year at Forks High.

"Hey, Jayjay! I need a ride to school today!" a banging from a flat hand hit Jayden's bedroom door.

She instantly recognized the voice as her little brother, he was two years younger than her but the complete opposite in most aspects. Shawn still got straight A's like Jayden but was as far away from Mr. Perfect as possible. He got into fights regularly, smoked on occasions when he knew his parents and sister couldn't find him, and he absolutely hated any and all sports. He was more like the Mr. Rebellious to his sister's Miss Perfect title.

Although Shawn and Jayden were so different and rarely ever got the chance to see eye to eye on anything they were still extremely close. Despite his attitude and personality Shawn really looked up to Jayden and as his big sister, she always looked out for him no matter how much trouble he was.

"Mickey's picking me up today!" Jayden called back to her brother. "I'm sure he won't mind giving you a ride, too!"

"Cool, thanks!"

She listened to Shawn's footsteps fade down the hallway. Then threw her blankets off and stood up from her bed before pressing the button in on her CD player and bobbing her head to the music. She danced to a stop in front of her dresser and fixed her hair slightly in the mirror. Strawberry blonde ringlets fell over her shoulders messily and green eyes sparkled as she stared back at herself.

Maybe this was just a regular random dream, she told herself. Maybe it won't come true this time. Maybe... maybe... maybe... Jayden tried to fool herself with what ifs, though she knew it would never work.

She got dressed a minute later in a knee-length daisy dress, white leggings, a denim blue jacket, and knee-high brown leather boots. She brushed her hair out and lightly braided two parts to overlap the crown of her head while leaving the rest loose. Jayden smiled, even without meaning to, her look matched her school nickname; The Forks High Beauty.

By the time she made it downstairs her breakfast was toppled high on a plate. It was pancakes and strawberry slices. Her dad, Finn Mason, was flipping his third round of pancakes skilfully and like he did most mornings, he turned and gave her a smile.

"Morning, Dad."

"Morning, baby girl," Finn greeted back. "Hurry up and eat your pancakes before you and Shawn are late for your first day back at school."

"Okay," Jayden said and sat down in her usual seat.

Shawn was sitting beside her with his own stack of pancakes on a plate, he didn't bother to eat them one by one and began shuffling them down with an unhealthy amount of syrup gluing them all together. He sent Jayden a wink and she laughed at him, shaking her head and picking up her knife and fork like a proper human being.
