(Bandana Dee pulls over Sailor Dee and kisses him once on each cheek. Sailor Dee shakes it off. Cut to DMS, who finds King Dedede 's lair. He raises his crossbow and takes aim. King Dedede looks up at him, then looks back down in sadness again. DMS releases the arrow and it strikes King Dedede in the shoulder. He screams in pain and stands. DMS rushes him and they fly out the window onto the balcony, where it has begun to rain.)
DMS: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! (DMS corners King Dedede on the edge of the roof. King Dedede simply sits there in despair.) Get up! Get up! What's the matter, Beast? Too kind and gentle to fight back?
(King Dedede looks down ignoring him. DMS walks into the foreground and breaks off a piece of the roof. He is about to smash it on King Dedede's head when Meta Knight's voice drifts up. He is on the bridge and is yelling to DMS, telling him to stop.)
Meta Knight: No!
King Dedede: (Hearing his voice and giving him new life) Meta.
Meta Knight: No! DMS, don't!
(DMS swings down at King Dedede, but he catches the weapon in his hand. King Dedede rises up and roars in DMS's face. They proceed through a fight on the rooftop. Finally, King Dedede takes a hiding place among the gargoyles in the darkness. Meanwhile, Meta Knight enters the castle on the ground.)
Meta Knight: Let's go, Landia!
DMS: Come on out and fight! Were you in love with him, beast? Did you honestly think he'd want you when he had someone like me?! (King Dedede has been provoked enough. He emerges and they fight again.) It's over, beast! META IS MINE!
(This time, however, King Dedede picks up DMS by the neck and holds him out over the edge of the roof. DMS pleads with King Dedede.) Let me go. Let me go! Please, don't hurt me! I'll do anything! Anything!
(King Dedede's anger slowly melts off his face, and the look of compassion returns. He pulls DMS back onto the roof and brings him close to his face.)
King Dedede: Get out! (He shoves DMS to the ground. Above, Meta Knight comes out on a balcony.)
Meta Knight: Dedede!
King Dedede: Meta!
(King Dedede begins to climb the tower until he reaches the balcony. He hangs over the side.)
King Dedede: Meta? You came back!
(King Dedede and Meta Knight stare passionately at each other, but the moment is interrupted when DMS sneaks up and stabs King Dedede in the back. Meta Knight roars in pain, and Meta Knight is helpless. DMS pulls the knife out and swings back for another shot. King Dedede starts to fall, knocking DMS off his balance. Meta Knight reaches forward and pulls King Dedede back, while DMS falls off never to be seen again. Meta Knight helps the injured King Dedede up onto the balcony, where he lies down on the floor. The objects come rushing out, but stay out of sight.)
King Dedede: You. You came back.
Meta Knight: Of course I came back. I couldn't let them...Oh this is all my fault. If only I'd gotten here sooner.
King Dedede: Maybe it's better... it's better this way.
Meta Knight: Don't talk like that. You'll be alright. We're together now. Everything's going to be fine. You'll see.
King Dedede: At least... I got to see you one... last time.
(Meta Knight pulls King Dedede's paw up to his cheek. He holds it there for a second, then drops it. His head falls back, and his eyes close. Meta Knight drops the paw and puts her hands to his mouth. He can't believe this has happened.)
Meta Knight: (crying) No, no! Please! Please! Please don't leave me! I love you!
(Cut to the objects, who watch the last petal fall off the rose. They all look down at the floor, and Sailor Dee puts his arm around Morpho Knight. Cut back to Meta Knight and King Dedede. The rain continues to fall. But one beam of light falls, like a shooting star. Then another comes. And another, and another. Meta Knight finally notices what is happening. He stops crying for a second, then starts to back away. We cut to a fog and begin to enshroud King Dedede. We see the objects looking on in extreme anticipation. King Dedede rises up into the air magically and begins to turn. He is enveloped in a cloud of light, and becomes wrapped in his cloak. Underneath, we can see King Dedede's body shifting and forming. A fore paw comes out and the claws turn into fingers. A hind paw emerges and develops into a foot. Finally, a wind blows across his face and the fur melts away to reveal a young king. He gradually descends and is laid on the floor again. The fog disappears and Meta Knight reaches out to touch him. He jerks his hand back, however, when the figure begins to move. It stands, then looks at it's hands, then turns to face Meta Knight. It is a human, with the same brown eyes as King Dedede. Meta Knight gives him a mysterious look.)
King Dedede: Meta! It's me!
(He continues to look at him sceptically, but then he sees the brown eyes, and instantly knows it is him.)
Meta Knight: It is you!
(They kiss. A fireworks display explodes around them. The gloom surrounding the castle disappears, revealing a blue sky. The castle is transformed, with the gargoyles changing into cherubs. Finally, we return to the balcony, where the objects hop out to meet King Dedede and Meta Knight. One by one, they are transformed back to their original human conditions.)
King Dedede: Bandana! Sailor! Oh, Morpho! Look at us!
Kirby: (comes riding in on the footstool.) Dad! Dad! (The pair transforms back into a boy and dog.)
Morpho Knight: (Picking up his boy) Oh my goodness!
Lu: It is a miracle!
(King Dedede and Meta Knight swing her around. The ruffles of her skirt wipe to the ballroom, where all are gathered to celebrate. King Dedede and Meta Knight dance around the room as the rest of the characters get in their last lines.)
Bandana Dee: Ah, l'amour. (He says this, and Susie, obviously the former featherduster walks by, brushing him on the chin. Chuckling, he starts to chase after her, but Sailor Dee stops him.)
Sailor Dee: Well, Bandana, old friend. Shall we let bygones be bygones?
Bandana Dee: Of course, mon ami. I told you he would break the spell.
Sailor Dee: I beg your pardon, old friend, but I believe I told you.
Bandana Dee: No you didn't. I told you.
Sailor Dee: You most certainly did not, you pompous paraffin-headed pea-brain!
Bandana Dee: En garde, you overgrown pocket watch! (He takes off his glove and slaps Sailor Dee across the face with it, revealing his bald spot. They begin to fight.)
(Cut to Meta Knight and King Dedede who continue to dance around the floor. The camera stops on Morpho Knight, Kirby and Galacta Knight, who is beginning to cry.)
Kirby: Are they gonna live happily ever after, dad?
Morpho Knight: Of course, my dear. Of course.
Kirby: (Looks happy for a moment, then puzzled.) Do I still have to sleep in the cupboard?
(Galacta Knight laughs and Morpho Knight hugs his child and laughs. Cut to a camera looking over the entire ballroom with all in the shot. It slowly zooms out with Meta Knight and King Dedede dancing around the room, and fades into the final stained glass window, this one with Meta Knight and King Dedede in the center, surrounded by the rest of the characters.)
Chorus: ♪Certain as the sun. Rising in the east Tale as old as time, song as old as rhyme, Beauty and the beast! Tale as old as time, song as old as rhyme, Beauty and the beast!♪
(Fade out into credits. The end)
