Can I Talk?

•Wednesday 24th June 2022•

The captain woke up to the noise of fanny falling out of the window again. He started to walk slowly to the front door of button house , waiting for his signal to run. She was late . Again.

"Alison, ALISON!!" Captain shouted. He stared at the window waiting for it to open . Alison swung the window open , and shouted "ready steady go!!"
"For king and countryyyyy"
He ran as fast as he could to try to beat his record .

•A few minutes later•

He ran through the door and stared at Alison , waiting for her to tell him if he had finally beaten his record . "Captain , it's the same as last time , it's the same every time"she stubbornly said. Captain sighed and marched into the living room.

The day carried on as normal . But captain felt strange , stranger than ever . Held down by guilt . He felt like he couldn't be seen like this .

He anxiously walked up into his bedroom and sat on his bed staring out of the window , waiting for the day to be over . After 10 or so minutes , Julian barged in "stop moping around and get to food club, the others need you"
"I am not moping" the captain snapped.
"If you say so" Julian sarcastically said and left without saying another word.

•Another ten minutes pass•

"Knock knock" Alison said calmly .
"What is it?"Captain sighed.
She walked in and sat next to the Captain.She looked at him reassuringly and said "The others say that you are acting weird and I've just come up here to ask you if you are okay."
"Im thank you." the captain said sternly.
"Well if you need me , you can just ask" Alison happily announced.
She got up slowly and skipped to the door.
"Wait!" Captain said . Alison looked kindly at him. "Can I talk?" He nervously asked.
