Archon war oneshots ( XiaoVen )

True forms

Morax is going to Barbatos in the archon war. Barbatos, sitting on top of a throne (sort of) was visibly mad that Morax went to him for help as he (on a daily basis) scolds and disregards Barbatos all the time.

His legs spread from his original sitting position and he leaned forward while resting his arms on his legs.

"What do you want, Morax." Barbatos asked, his wings flapped which caused a gush of wind to hit Morax in the face.

The tall man sighed and just moved his hand from behind him, which revealed that a young yaksha stood behind him.

The yaksha was very young at the time, a child compared to the adepti and archon years.

Barbatos' expression quickly changed as he saw him. He sat up and stood, quickly jumping down.

A bright flash of light covered Barbatos as he changed forms. Morax moved out of the way as a young child with wings tackle hugged the yaksha.

"XIAO!!" Said a higher voice, Xiao opened his eyes and saw the kid version of Barbatos.

His eyes lit up and he hugged him back. Their hug was soon separated as Barbatos took his small hand in his and led Xiao out of the building. "C'mon, let's go play in the garden!"

Morax sighed as he transformed into his true form and flew off back to Liyue.

Once they reached the garden Xiao soon realized just how beautiful it was. The garden was covered in Cecilia's and other Mondstadt flowers, there were a few different fountains along with stone statues of heroes.

The largest statue was a statue of Barbatos, well, his older looking form that is.

The two boys went over to one of the fountains and Barbatos sat on the edge, spreading his small wings so the water brushed over them. Xiao paused for a moment and fiddled with his fingers.

"Barbatos?"

"Hm? What is it, Xiao?" He replied, giving the small adeptus his full attention.

"U-um.. are you really little like me? Earlier you look same as Rex Lapis.." Xiao nervously stated. Barbatos blinked before smiling.

"Yeah, I really am this little! When with you I show my true age." He explained. Xiao lifted his head to look at him.

"But Rex Lapis show true age and still same?"

"That's because Rexxie is old!" Barbatos laughed, kicking his legs as he moved his wings. "I got another form too!" Xiao seemed intrigued and sat down next to Barbatos.

The young god giggled and a flash of light covered him, soon he puffed into dandelions and transformed into a small wisp. "See? Cool right?" Xiao paused and gently poked the wisp.

"Woah, this true true you?" He questioned. The small creature nodded.

"Yup yup!" Barbatos then moved and rested in Xiao's small hand. The young adeptus seemed shocked but calmed down after a second.

"I got true form too."

"You do?" The wisp questioned as he hopped off of Xiao's hand and transferred back into the small child look. Xiao nodded and stood up, then soon transformed into a crane-like bird.

The feathers were green in color with many different fading colors on its tail.

Barbatos paused but soon squealed as he ran up and hugged Xiao. "So cool!" He giggled as he played with Xiao's feathers.

This is when he realized Xiao was missing wings. Feeling bad he wrapped his wings around him and kept hugging Xiao.

The bird took a moment to process before resting its head on Barbatos' head, giving the best hug he could in that form.

"No matter what, you still pretty, even with no wings." Xiao heard Barbatos whisper.

Xiao transferred back into a child and hugged Barbatos back tightly, holding back his tears.

"..thank you..." he muttered.
