Makoto was bursting with excitement. Monokuma, principal of Hope's Peak, announced last week a seven day long camping field trip! He had been camping only once before and that was with his family. This camping trip would be with his class and the one below his! Makoto knew it'd be really fun!
Makoto picked up their backpack and put it on. He looked around his room for anything he might've missed and seeing that there was most likely none, he walked out. The lucky boy stepped into the bathroom and grabbed his toothbrush and toothpaste. He brushed his teeth while looking at himself in the mirror. Makoto had messy light brown hair, gray green eyes, and light skin with freckles speckled across his face. They had a more childish look than any of their other classmates but they didn't care. Once he finished brushing his teeth, he quickly combed a hand through his hair and walked out, grabbing his bags.
The lucky student stood outside his sister's door and knocked. After a few seconds, Komaru opened the door.
"You get everything packed?" Makoto asked with a smile. Komaru looked at the paper in her hand and then at her luggage.
"Yep, let's go!" She picked up her luggage and walked out of their room.
In the car, the two siblings put their bags on the floor and sat down. Makoto sat in the passenger seat and Komaru sat in the back. As his mom started to drive she spoke.
"This'll be so much fun for you two. And I'm sure you'll learn a bunch about nature, too!" She smiled sweetly while still looking at the road. "But of course your father and I will miss you very much."
His sister frowned. "We'll miss you too."
Makoto nodded and then thought of something. "We can always send mom pictures."
His mom gasped. "Of course! We'd love to see all the pictures you take!"
A minute later, they arrived at Hope's Peak. The siblings hugged their mom and got their luggage, they got out of the car and joined their classes in line. The second Makoto stepped in line, the bell rang, meaning that school had begun for the other classes. His classmate and best friend,
Kyoko Kirigiri, moved to the back of the line to talk with him. "I was beginning to think you'd be late for another field trip."
Makoto did have a habit of being late for any important events, such as field trips. He scratched the back of his head and chuckled nervously. "Well, I'm here now!"
"Hey kiddos, listen up!" All the students focused their attention on the white and black bear that was their principal. "You're gonna be on this bus for two hours! Two!"
A strawberry blonde girl with pigtails cut off Monokuma. "Yah, so if you didn't bring a snacky then you're totally out of luck!" She stuck out her tongue and stepped back to let the bear continue.
The bear pointed to the bus. "Bus rules; stay out of the aisle, keep throwing up to a minimum," Monokuma made a fake throwing up motion. "And- keep the bus clean! Failure to do so will lead to both classes cleaning it spotless! Pupupu! Not a fun task, is it?"
The bear then gestured to the bus and blew the whistle that had suddenly appeared around his neck and yelled. "Get on in!!"
