"Where have you been?" He growled as he turned to face me.

"I was outside, getting fresh air, like I said. You don't need to send someone to watch me, I can take care of myself, Cash." He didn't understand the meaning of privacy, not one bit.

"You weren't feeling well earlier, so I told him to watch you just in case something happened." He slightly snapped.

"Thanks, but I'm fine now." I responded as turned to head back up the stairs.

"Fine or not, there is still a demon out there, Ayda, and if he becomes aware you are a walking beacon of energy to sustain him, you can be sure he will be after you, instead of me." Cash almost blurted it out trying to warn me, or maybe he was trying to scare me, I wasn't sure.

"Remember Cash, I work for Heaven, and if he thinks my energy is tasty, then let him try. At least that way, someone will find him. Besides, we still don't know yet if he can even possess me, or even if the kind of soul swapping, I do, is helpful to the little bugger." I was trying to be cheeky, to help lighten the mood. The most it did was allow Pheral to silently step away while Cash and I argued.

"That isn't even amusing Ayda. You told me that I should value my life more, so why don't you do the same?" His response was accurate, I did say that before.

"The difference between you and me.." I said slowly backing down each step until we were eye to eye when I turned.

"Is that if I die, I don't stay dead. You die.." I leaned in as I whispered.

"You become.. just more food for the worms." I stared at him in the eyes a moment before turning around and going back up the stairs slowly. I was challenging an Alpha, was I nuts? Maybe.

Cash didn't say another word before I got to the bedroom door. It was fine with me. I wanted to take a hot bath and relax anyway. I had to keep any preconceived notions that I would accept his feelings in the future, to a minimum. It was unfair to him if I didn't, and unfair to myself.

The bedroom was plain, simple, decorated in light blues and sea greens. I tossed my phone on the bed and headed for the bathroom.

It was entirely done in brick like tiles, while all the decorations were accented in gold tones. Even the ceiling was unnerving as it was brick as well. The large corner tub was like a brick box, deep and wide, with mirrors pointed out from the corner it sat in. There was a large glass doored shower opposite of it.

I ended up indulging in some bubble salt bath and lavender bath oil that sat along the wide brick lip of the tub. I stared at my reflection a moment while I was propped on the edge, filling the tub to the max with bubbles.

I realized the water was hitting my butt while I was spaced out. Bubbles spilled over onto the floor. There was a drain in the middle of the brick floor so I didn't worry too much and got it.

I lost my self in thought as I closed my eyes and leaned back. I couldn't understand what Cash didn't get about what I was, or rather what I wasn't. I wouldn't stay dead, even if shot 100 times. It wasn't abracadabra magic that kept me coming back, it was more like the powers that be, the spiritual magic.

Like wolves, who naturally heal within minutes or hours after getting injured. It wasn't spiritual but it was just something we accepted. I could understand and accept that, but why couldn't he accept the same for me.

Maybe he did accept it but didn't like the fact that a change took place when it happened. Either way, he'd already witnessed it, so maybe he didn't want to witness it again?

In the middle of my inner questioning, I could faintly hear the ethereal voice of my phone. I checked my cloths laying on the floor by the tub and remembered I tossed it on the blue comforter covered bed.

Suddenly the ring was getting closer and then there was a knock on the bathroom door.

"Yeah?" I said as I ducked into the tub, pulling all the remaining bubbles towards me as if someone could see me.

"Ehm.. Your phone kept ringing, and when I knocked on the bedroom door, no one answered." Cash said loudly through the door.

Well, yeah, no one answered because the someone who would have answered was trying to enjoy a soak in the tub.

"It's fine. Thanks. Give me one second." I said standing and reaching over to where a small towel was on the rack. I had forgotten to grab a towel out of the linen closet right outside the door.

I realized it was just a hand towel and panicked. It wasn't big enough to cover me.
