T'was the next day. The plain afternoon settled in. Mabalacat City was peaceful at its mostly been for some time.

Right over at San Raph Hospital near Dau. The hospital staff worked quietly, focused on their duties. Which was the obvious norm.

A woman, the doctor, who wore her coat for the first time in a while had just arrived.
The receptionist took note and greeted her.

"I apologize for wearing this just now--again." She said, as she checked in for her attendance.

"No biggie, Doc. He's in the ER." The receptionist said to her.

"How old's the kid and what happened to him?" she asked.

"Seven. Someone tried to kill the poor kid." The receptionist said.

"Jesus Christ. The people in this world." The doctor said.

"I'm just glad she saved him." The receptionist said.

"Who?" The doctor asked.

Then the air shifted, the wind blew right behind the doctor through the corridor and into the emergency room. Everyone heard the sound of a supersonic boom due to the vast speed. A trail of purple lightning that faded followed the entity that sped into the hospital.

The doctor turned back, and saw papers hurled around the corridors from the wind.

"That." The receptionist said.

The doctor put two and two together and affirmed it's that real life superhero. She shrugged as she headed for the emergency room.

She went inside to find Sprint herself, the purple-wearing superhero who looked to be younger than one would think. The latter was greeting the slightly-injured little boy with a smile; in which she vibed off abundant positive energy for the situation of the child. Could be better or worse. The child's mother was right beside him, sat on the bed. In glee of the support for her kid.

The doctor smiled as she walked towards them.
"Good morning there, Miss---Sprint?" she said.

The superhero turned to face the doctor, as she was still smiling. "Good morning, Doctor. Kid's dealing with it good. Brave one." She looked at the child then back at the medical professional.

The doctor nodded at Sprint then checked on the seven-year-old.
"Hi there. Let me just check the cuts on you, what is your name?" she asked.

"Fernando." The kid said, positively as he matched his energy with that of Sprint. Having her around helped most kids alot through times like this.

Under his shirt, the doctor found four diagonal cuts.
"The maniac was a guy wearing a beanie. Looked to be in his twenties." Sprint began explaining. "I was unaware of his intention, but it was almost as if he was trying to . . . "

The doctor stood up straight and tilted her head at Sprint, confused.
Sprint pointed at her stomach and gestured it being opened up.

"Oh." The doctor said, then re-attended to the child.

"I got there just in time. Maniac's now in a cell. I'll be checking in with the department soon to find out what he was trying to do." Sprint said, then looked over to Fernando's mother. Whom she felt she owed something to.

She was disappointed of herself she couldn't instantly be there for the kid before the criminal striked at him and gave him those scars at all.
Although, the mother was just glad her son was alive in the end.

"Thank you so much, Sprint. We appreciate the big help." The doctor said and smiled at her. So did Fernando and his mother.

Sprint smiled and nodded. She looked at Fernando. "Don't ever go too far from your mom now, tough guy. When you're out together."

The kid nodded and thanked her before she sped off, and fled out of the hospital---transformed into purple lightning as she headed to the police department in which she arrived at in less than a second.

She stood infront of the police department, and was honked at by a police cruiser that was parking infront which she did not notice.

"I'm so sorry!" She apologized to the driver and backed off before walking into the department to meet up with her connection in there.

All the officers stared at her, mostly due to the costume---and her presence that it brought.
She walked over to the receptionist.
"Excuse me. Can I get a hold of Captain Del Rosario?" she said.

"Oh. He went to the Dunkin' Donuts near Jenra. Over at Dau." The receptionist said.

Sprint's eyes widened. She smirked as she tilted her head.
"Oh. What's he doing? Trying out donuts?" She said.

Silence from the officers around her was the only reply she received.

"Because usually, we take pandesals instead." She said, slightly felt awkward.

The receptionist chuckled. "Probably just for today."

"I was going to ask about the guy I brought here just earlier." she said.

"Oh. I'll tell you what we got off of him." The receptionist turned over to the computer and returned to a window with information.
"Name's Francis Velasco. Aged 27. No prior crimes before his assault on the kid." he said.

"Really? He looked like he's already gone through hell when I saw him. He literally tried to cut that kid open. Are we sure there are no records of him like attempted murder or something?" she asked.

"Not at all, Miss." The receptionist said. "I guess he's one guy who's been pushed past his threshold."

"Possible." Sprint said. "Also, you can just call me Sprint. 'Miss' is flattering, but I prefer directly." she said.
