Chapter 64: Mother

Jisoo waited in her car for the entire night. After waking up the next morning, the hottest search term had changed from 'Y/N' into 'Sunmi'.

Jisoo closed her phone in fear. Her mind endlessly ran through the warnings Editor Lin had given her...

Y/N has someone backing her.

How could she have someone backing her? This was impossible. Y/N had been bullied by her previously. If there really was such a person, then he mustn't truly care about her.

She, at most, could only be a mistress!

Jisoo put away her phone. She originally wanted to look for Hyunjin, but while driving there, she received a phone call from the hospital, "Miss Kim, please come to the hospital to pay your mother's medical bills."

"I don't have any money left, who am I going to get the money from to pay the medical bills?" Jisoo screamed.

"Then, you have no choice but to come take your mother home and take care of her yourself..."

How was she suppose to take care of a paralyzed person? Plus, if people were to find out, how would she live up to it?

Jisoo had no choice but to turn the car around and drive to the hospital. As for the incident about Sunmi taking drugs, the public were in an uproar. Even her parents stepped out to try and clear her innocence, "This can't possibly be my daughter. If it's my daughter, I'll die right in front of you. Isn't my daughter's nickname, Mini-Y/N? Since my daughter looks so similar to her, how could you guys be certain it wasn't Y/N that took drugs and claim that it was my daughter?"

While accepting an interview, Sunmi's parents cried while they spoke, "I know my daughter better than anyone. There's no way she would take drugs. It must be Y/N. For the sake of passing the blame, she must have used some underhanded methods. It wasn't my daughter, it was Y/N!"

Seeing the clip of Sunmi's mother crying on screen, even Jennie couldn't hold back her laughter as she sat in the office watching...

It seemed Sunmi used her own face as a shield, throwing the blame onto Y/N.

However, in order to settle the rumors, Jennie immediately instructed her staff to release an official statement stating that it couldn't have possibly been Y/N and to have faith in her...She also reported the incident straight to the police.

As soon as the statement was released, Sunmi's mother started threatening everyone with suicide; exclaiming that underhanded people in the entertainment industry were trying to destroy her daughter. She also claimed that the netizens were ruining a child's future.

As Y/N was currently on a break, after talking to Jennie on the phone, she assured her she wouldn't need to do anything personally. So, Y/N lay casually on Jimin's lap, dressed in comfortable home clothes as she listened to the entertainment news being broadcast on the TV.

Jimin instructed Lu Che to retrieve all his documents, bring them home and tell everyone at work he's too sick to go to the office. However, Y/N knew it was because there was too much going on at the moment and he didn't want to leave her all alone.

"Min...this afternoon, I want to drop by the police station," Y/N said as she lay on his lap.

"Uh huh," Jimin nodded without asking her why. He understood, in relation to the drugs incident, even if the majority of netizens believed her, she still needed to present some evidence of her innocence. If she missed her chance to prove herself, who could guarantee whether this rumor would be used against her later on.

For Sunmi to be completely over, there was still a little more to be done, but Jimin didn't tell Y/N.

Right now online, the majority of comments were not from 'mother-fans' that supported Sunmi, but from kids her age that felt, as a person in the limelight, she wasn't setting a good example and was a complete embarrassment!
