brrr, brrr, brrr. That would be my alarm. brrr, brrr, brrr. I hate getting up so early, but I must. brrr, brr- finally, silence. I'll get up when it feels like an elephant isn't on top of me, school is always so hard to get up for..... I wonder if my friends have some of the same classes, if they do, each morning may be more like a horse instead. I guess there's only one way to find out.. make it so my dad doesn't yell at me and get up. Even though it's not even winter the smooth, wooden floor is cold, makes me want to hop back in bed more, but, I guess i'll get breakfast. "Hurry up ya goof! We leave in fifteen minutes!" my dad tells me from the couch, he's already dressed, i bet he has eaten too. He's your typical business man, short slicked back hair, slightly shaved on the side, short but visible and clean stubble, blue eyes and a suit with a blue tie. "Mhm.." man, I sound like a cheese grater is in my throat, whatever, i'll just drink some water on my way out, right now I need to shovel that eggs and bacon into my mouth.

"So, you excited for the first day?" he asks. I nod, I don't really feel like talking, so I won't say the truth. "You're quiet today. C'mon! get excited!" he playfully shoves me, I do my absolute best not to flinch but it's too late, he ignores it trying to not make it awkward, "it's your first day of sophomore year! Maybe you'll have Mrs. Penelo again." He mentions a teacher from 9th grade that I liked, she's an english teacher. I don't have energy inside me right now, so all I can manage is a dry "heh-".. he seems satisfied enough with that. Look, I know I seem like a big downer right now but I promise i'm usually better than this, I don't know why but it's just a little harder this year to look at the glass half full, "Well kiddo, this is your stop. Good luck in school!" I smile and wave goodbye as I open the door. As soon as I step outside a feel a burst of wind, of course, the mornings are always so cold. The sky a teal or turquoise color, the clouds are dark like always, making the ground full of shadows, the air is crisp yet somehow fuzzy. No other choice now, back into the odd place that is GreenBail's high school.
