Hi quick authors note here just to give some quick context, the beginning of this story AU happens around right before Luz followed Owlbert and ended up in the demon realm, like maybe only 1 or 2 days before. Hunter's POV
Knock, knock, knock
"Coming!" I called. I stuck a piece of paper in the book I was studying and walked to the door. A coven scout was there, with a letter in their hand.
"What up Hunter? Still reading that book I lent you?" The scout asked.
Oh. I knew that voice. And I also knew that only a few coven scouts knew my actual name.
"Hey Steve." I replied coolly.
Steve took his coven mask off, chuckling, "Glad to see you still remember me sir!" he handed the letter to me, "Here, letter for you."
I took the letter from his hands and checked the back.

Well that's no surprise. It's from Uncle Belos. As per usual. I thought.
"Thanks Steve." I said, closing the door.
"It was my pleasure sir!" Steve called as the door shut in his face.
I sat on my bed crisscross and looked at the letter. The design on the wax seal was all too familiar to me.
Welp, time to read this. I sighed and carefully opened the letter.

To Hunter,
I am sending you on another mission.
It will be a lengthy one. You will be enrolled in
Hexside's School of Magic and Demonics, and gather as much information as possible from the students within a month. As a side mission, this is not required, you are to convince as many students as possible to join the Emperor's Coven. Since you have no natural magic, you will be in the potion track, as it does not require magic. Please come to the throne room to receive your uniform, then we will have you start next semester. The abomination coven head, Darius, also insisted that you find a few friends. I have no objection against this, as long as they don't distract you from your main focus. I have faith in you, Hunter. So do not disappoint me.

"Guess that means there's no time for studying today. Gotta go!" I fitted on my mask, put on my cloak, then grabbed my staff and teleported myself to the throne room.
