Halloween Special

Hello people! Author Cloudy here! Since Halloween's tomorrow (at the time I'm writing this), I thought I'd grace you guys with a Goldric Halloween Special! This bit does not relate to the main story at all and is placed after everyone is back on the Boiling Isles and the Collector and Belos no longer pose a threat. It's been like a year since the Collector was defeated. Also, I'm going to be Hooty for Halloween! If you'd like, feel free to comment what you're going as for Halloween! Remember that you're never too old to go trick-or-treating! And to the people that don't celebrate Halloween, happy October 31st and I hope you still manage to enjoy reading this one-shot! Hunter POV:

"C'mon Hunter! Hurry up or we're gonna be late! Besides, I wanna show Mittens that I am indeed dating the Hunter Noceda! C'mon c'mon c'mon!"

"WOAH! Edric you don't have to drag me y'know! I know how to walk." I grumbled as almost tripped over from the force of his pull, my mischievous green-haired boyfriend smirking at me before running ahead, occasionally stopping to get something from a stall or just take a peek at the prizes. We were at a carnival for a triple date with Luz and Amity, and Gus and his boyfriend Mattholomule.

"Here. Eat!" Edric suddenly reappeared from wherever he was, shoving a huge round puffy thing on a paper cone in my face. It smelled like sugar. And rotting flesh.

I held it away from my face, poking it carefully. "What is this?" I asked, "It smells weird."

Edric laughed, "It's rotten candy dude! Have you never tried it?"

"Nope. The Golden Guard was given many responsibilities and few privileges. And unfortunately getting to go to a carnival and enjoy its many treats and surprises was not one of them. I was never even sent to monitor any." I responded plainly, thinking about my days when I believed every word Belos said and followed his orders without question. Past me would be shocked by present-day me. 

I took a bite of the rotten candy curiously. It melted in my mouth instantly in sweet sugary bliss.
"Okay, I don't know what they put in this, but this tastes fucking AMAZING man!" I said, taking another bite with satisfaction.

"I know right?" Edric replied, tearing off a piece of my rotten candy and popping it in his mouth.

"EDRIC! HUNTER! OVER HERE!" A voice called. It was Amity.

"HEY THERE MITTENS!" Edric called back, dragging me over to the group. The force of his pull made my rotten candy fall out of my hand to the floor and I frowned.

"I'll get you another, promise," Edric told me, eyeing the rotten candy on the ground in disgust like it was the candy's fault it fell.

Greetings and questions about how everyone was doing were exchanged and asked, and soon everyone was playing carnival games and laughing together. Edric got me another rotten candy just as promised, and Gus's boyfriend Mattholomule apparently knew the person running the carnival. He'd helped the guy with a few scams here and there. When Mattholomule mentioned the guy's name, Tibbles, Gus and Luz immediately went, "We know." 

The two then proceeded to tell everyone the story of how Tibblet-Tibblie Grimm Hammer the Third tricked King, the tiny demon that lived in the Owl House with Luz and Eda, into spraying Gus and Willow, and eventually Luz and even himself, with a potion that shrank them. Before getting thrown into a cage to get eaten by creatures that had also gotten spritzed with the shrinking potion and King had to get Tibbles to slap his own cheek to un-shrink everyone. 

Edric was howling with laughter at the story, mocking Luz and Gus in a joking manner, while Amity scolded her brother for making fun of her girlfriend. Titan, He's gorgeous. I thought to myself, smiling at him. 

"OKAY, WHO WANTS A MOVIE NIGHT AT MY PLACE?!" Luz suddenly shouted, startling me. 

Everyone agreed with shouts and cheers. Edric and the Mattholomule guy, having never been to the Human Realm, were extremely excited. Movie nights were something we did every week with Vee and Camila when we were stuck in the Human Realm. I know Camila adopted me, but it still felt weird calling her Mom, so I usually stuck to Camila. 

Luz popped the portal door open, and everyone hopped in, and out into the shack where we had conducted our experiments in an attempt to get home a year ago.

"Woah. This place is cool." I heard Edric say to himself. I could tell he was already plotting the pranks he could pull on Amity. Mattholomule was talking to Gus about human artifacts like a dorky pair of nerds. 

We walked towards Luz's home- no, my home. Our home. I was a Noceda too after all. It was hard to remember that sometimes. The thoughts of being a copy of a Wittebane still plagued my mind sometimes, but I was getting better, and that's all that mattered. We went in through the back door just in case there were still trick-or-treaters on the streets and made ourselves comfy on the living room couch and floor, saying hi to Camila who came to greet us there, bringing snacks, drinks, and a smiling basilisk carrying assorted movies to pick from.  

The two settled down with us and we agreed on A Nightmare Before Christmas before sliding the CD into the player and hitting play. 

Edric was cuddled next to me, watching the movie intently. I stared at him, completely distracted from the movie. Focused on nothing but him. When he turned to look at me, I kissed him. I never kissed someone before and had no idea if this was the right time to do that, but I did anyway. Cause I didn't care.

So yea that's the end of the Goldric Halloween Special. Honestly, I kinda forgot this was supposed to be a Goldric Halloween-themed one-shot so the movie and kiss were my pathetic attempts to steer this back in that direction. Also, I have never watched a horror movie or The Nightmare Before Christmas. So yea disclaimer there lol anyway I hope it was still enjoyable! I was gonna write a Halloween-themed one-shot for the Gustholomule fanfic I have too but I might end up not having time for it or it'll be late. Anyway hope you enjoyed see ya in the next chapter!
