Chris moved out today morning and I don't know what will happen next. For the last month, my career, my love life, my family and my friends are not colored by the same way anymore. I turn on my computer and start Youtube. The Neighbourhood- Sweater Weather blasts out and I start to clean the kitchen. I have an hour and a half until I need to head off to the station. A blast minute from the talk I had with Chris last night reminds itself of when I drop two glasses in the sink.

¤ "We were fine. What's wrong?" I ask Chris while he is packing his suitcase. All that we took from his apartment is going neatly into his leather suitcase. "Lucy, thank you for everything but you know why it won't work out between us." He says, finally lifting his head and glances me wiping my hands into a towel. "When I thought I was going to die, all I thought about was you. You saved me. Tim saved me. But I survived and you had to take care of me. You were miserable."

"No I am not, I was not," I argue, rising my voice.

"Yes, you were." He says and comes to me, asking for my hands. He brushes over my knuckles. "It hurt you, I know. We thought that dating was going to be like it weren't. That it was fun and something incredible. It didn't turn out this way."

I feel tears coming to my eyes. And not because he is breaking up with me, it's because he was telling out what we both wanted to say weeks ago."

I was the rest of the dishes and head for a shower. At the station, I get dressed and head inside. Lopez smirks and almost makes me laugh out hard. "What?" I ask.

"Nothing, just you look like you need a drink before the happy hour," she says. Like a steaming inside joke, I flip her off and lean against her desk. "Chris moved out today morning." I say.

"Really? I thought you'd seal the deal and keep the living arrangement."

"No, he just didn't move out, we kind of broke up. Well, honestly, he broke up with me."

"What? Why?" she almost can't believe what I was saying.

Before I can reply, I can see Tim pointing to his watch and I notice that the roll call has already started. Lopez and I head inside, and I sit down beside a very tired Harper.

"Baby didn't sleep good last night?" I ask.

"Oh, he did, but I didn't." she yans.

"Why?"

"Men are stupid and clueless. Just saying, James didn't take the move very well."

James and Nyla had just moved to a new apartment and James didn't like the idea of moving out from his old neighbourhood.

"Can't argue with that..." I reply.

I pair up with Nolan, because Tim's working on the shooting vitim with Lopez. We head off to patrol and talk about his upcoming wedding with Bailey. I was so happy for them and only wished I could finally find somebody who'd make me feel safe and protected and loved like Nolan did for Bailey.

At the end of the shift I see Tim in the lockerroom, holding his phone and typing. He is probably texting Ashley and I leave him be but before I can hide away, he notices my presence.

"Hey," he puts his phone back in his pocket and clears the distance between us. It's just the two of us in the man's chaning room and I freeze. Is he going to say something about us separated as previous partners.

"Hey. " i ask him and he nods.

"And you?" he asks and I nod. Silence is defening for a couple of minutes. Suddenly something bangs loudly into the locker room door behind me and Tim pulls me away from the opening door. The door opens a couple of inches and I hear Smittys voice. In a blink of an eye the door closes and I finally notice that Tim's hand is circled around my waste and my back against his chest. I breathe out shakingly. I am afraid to turn around and suddenly his hand tightens. I look down to see his bruised knuckles and get confused. With his other hand he clears the hair off my right shoulder and whispers: "Are you ok?"

His breathe hits my ear and neck and I shiver. Must of been an over body shaking because he feels that and lets me go.

"I feel ok. Thank you."

"I swear to god, Smitty needs to be trained not to be so reckless." he says.

"Thank god for your quick reaction. I would have been bruised, hit in the face with the door."

"You know I'd protect you." A small smile appears on his lips.

"You know, what happened after the Las vegas trip... I..." I start to say but he stops me. "I am just happy you were there."

"Yeah..." he exhales. "Is Chris doing ok?"

"I guess he is." I lower my gaze, knowing I need to say to him what happened today morning.

"And..." I gather my thoughts, figuring out how to say what I want next.

"And?" he looks curious.

Alarm bells go off in the station and we both rush to the lobby. A man in his fifties stumbles into the front door, holding a gun. Everyone unholsters their guns and aim at him but Nolan rushes to help with the man bleeding out. With his last breath, he whispers to Nolan. "Sergent... he did it." And looks at Tim before falling to ground, lifeless.
