Burton Family Home

Dear Diary,
It's my first day of Hogwarts tomorrow and I'm incredibly elated. My Cass is going to be attending his third year as well. I do hope I am sorted into slytherin, mother and father would be very proud to hear so, I shall miss them dearly while I'm away. We went to Diagon Alley yesterday and my trunk is full of books and clothing, in fact it's almost too heavy to carry. I'm taking Hades with me of course, and I do believe I am able to use my brothers owl to avoid any extra hassle. My mother says I can get an owl for Christmas if I want one, but for now- Hades will do just fine.

I'm sure I will make many friends there, but if I do not, I have packed a few of my favourite books, such as Alice in Wonderland and The Chronicles of Narnia. Although they are muggle books, they are wonderfully exciting, however not quite as exciting as the new subjects I will be taking on this year. We receive our timetables tomorrow, I believe they're on our beds. Or at least that's what happened in my brothers year. Anyway, I must be off to bed, it's an early start in the morning and if I don't sleep soon I'm not sure I'll make it to the station awake!

Yours,
Cressida Burton x

It wasn't ever a hectic morning within the Burton residence, however today made it to the top ten busiest ones. Although suitcases had been packed and children were awake bright and early, Phoebe was unable to stop herself finding everything she could to keep herself busy, her main aim being keeping her head off her children going away. Orion laughed quietly to himself, his wife's frantic movements amusing the rest of the Burtons to no end. By the time they had all eaten breakfast, it was time to use the floo network to journey over to Kings Cross once again. The doting parents sent their offspring to do one final check of their rooms, ensuring they would have everything they needed to get them to the Halloween half term holiday, when both children were coming home for a week.

Cressidas satchel hung off her shoulder, packed to the brim with books, notebooks and pens- anything to keep her amused on the long train journey. However, she had to curse herself when remembering about the black diary that rested under her mattress. Her mother had bought it for her on her 10th birthday and not only was it charmed to only to open for her, but it also had an unlimited amount of pages, which was perfect for the young witch as she was unable to stop herself writing about every minor inconvenience in her life. Shoving it into any space she could find in her bag, she ran back downstairs, grasping her cat, Hades, close to her chest. Hades was a British Shorthair cat- well, kitten- who was a shiny black colour. He was truly gorgeous, basically a therapy animal for the girl- even though she was only eleven and didn't even know what therapy was.

"I hate the way it feels Mum, must we travel this way?" Caspian huffed, staring distastefully at the small bowl of floo powder she had produced for him, grimacing slightly as he took it into his hands, ignoring the eye roll from Phoebe. "Catch up if you can." The elder sibling snickered, stepping into their lounges fireplace, "Kings Cross Station." He spoke loudly, throwing the powder to the floor, disappearing before the rest of the families eyes. One would call Cressida an idiot for enjoying floo powder, but truth be told, she loved it, she found it both fun and ingenious, a combination of good things. The first year took her turn, speaking loudly and clearly, gripping onto the sleeping feline within her arms, ensuring he made it too. Finally, she arrived, taking a step out towards her brother, who was stood waiting patiently within the designated room for these events in Kings Cross. Like their children, Orion and Phoebe appeared, both looking as proper as always, considering they both worked at the ministry, they had to look smart.
