After a while Ayana really started to relax, the weed helped with that but it wasn't just that, she enjoyed the company for once, laying down on the bed beside Riven, still smoking with him not trying to think of what they just had seen. She looked up at him and wanted to give him the joint and tried to figure out his expression, even if his body kind of started to relax, she saw that the scene from before was still in front of his eyes, it was like he couldn't look away. She knew that feeling all to well, so she sat up, now kneeling in front of him as she laid her hand very hesitantly on his cheek.
"Riven...Riven...", she said quietly and soft. "look at me. Just look at me.", she hoped she could pull him out of it or else she needed to get Sky, he would definitely know what to do. For a moment she doubted that she had the ability to pull him out of it, they didn't know each other for long, she looked him in the eyes and it was like he couldn't even see her.
"RIVEN....", Ayana said again, this time louder. "Look at me!"
Suddenly Riven starting blinking again, a few tears in his eyes and looked at Ayana surprised. She pulled him into a tight hug, which after a few seconds he returned.
She whispered into his ear, "Everything's gonna be alright. I'm here.", she held him tight. They sat there now in silence holding each other. After what seemed like an eternity, Riven loosened his grip and that was Ayana's queue to let go of him and bringing a little distance between them.
"Thanks...", Riven whispered and looked at her, he could see now that she also had tears in her eyes.
She looked at him, "You don't need to thank me...I know...what..", she shook her head, "know...how you're feeling...I went trough the same thing...", her voice got quieter with each word she said and Riven saw how sad she was, she seemed so broken.
"Your father?", he asked hesitantly, taking her hand so that he could give her some comfort. She didn't pull away and shook her head, very quietly she said, "No. My mother..she..", Ayana looked up at the ceiling trying to avoid eye contact, she actually had not talked with anyone about that except the officers back than. "She killed herself. I was the one who found her.", she said with a trembling voice. Riven squeezed her hand and now pulled her into a hug.
"Sorry...you don't need to talk about that....so sorry", he just held her and she just cried in his arms, for once she felt safe. After an hour they pulled away, looking at each other Ayana smiled slightly, "Thanks Riven.". "You don't need to thank me", it became a running gag, both of them thanking each other and then saying no need for thanks.
Ayana began yawning, "Maybe we should try and go to sleep", she stood up and so did Riven going to the door, giving her one more hug.
"If you need anything. Come to my room. Okay?", Riven smiled at her. "Same goes for you."
She looked after him as he left, closed the door and went for a shower. Riven did the same, instantly showered and then laid on his bed, thinking about this day. He was shocked about what he had seen and what she had told him, he really felt sorry for her, she had no parents, her father killed by a traitor and her mother killing herself, she had a big burden on her shoulders. He went to sleep still thinking about Ayana.
After her shower Ayana laid on her bed, also thinking about the day she had. Finding the body and telling Riven about her family "drama". It was good that he was here and she was glad that she helped him. She closed her eyes, slowly drifting into sleep.

Ayana didn't get much sleep that night, she awoke screaming, crying and shaking that night from one of her nightmares. "Fuck..", she sat up in her bad, her hair hanging in her face, clenching her blanket, she took a few deep breaths. She knew she couldn't go to sleep anymore, she could see the nightmare right before her eyes, her mothers body lifeless laying in front of her as she found her, blood everywhere. Ayana stood up, she must get those pictures out of her head, she put on her training gear and went for a run around the school. It was pitch dark, only the moon giving her some light. It still was the middle of the night, she just ran around the campus until she just sat down by the lake again. Sitting there all alone waiting for the sunrise.
