Minding your own business, you sat quietly under a big tree, it's branches and leave shading you from the hot sun, you listened to the sound your pencil made as you dragged it along the paper of your sketchbook.
You listened to the sound waves of the ocean (lake?) that surrounded the island hit the rocks, and the wind shaking the leaves on the huge trees that towers over the camp ever so slightly, the noises of the island filled your ears. You weren't getting tired of it anytime soon, you quite enjoyed peacefulness of the island when you weren't doing challenges.
You began to think, about the challenges, and the other competitors that took part in them,
One stuck out to you, Dawn.
She was calm and collected, much like yourself, and she seemed like a lovely person. She told you your aura was very sweet, and honest. You sat under that tree everyday since you arrived, you always did this at home to relax. Sometimes you drew, read, or listened to music, sometime you even just thought to yourself. Now you were just thinking and drawing, drawing whatever came to mind, while thinking, thinking about everything, the island, the competition, your family waiting for you at home, your friends watching every new episode, waiting for you to pop onto screen.
However, your peacefulness was cut short, by a familiar gingers voice now echoing through your ears, interrupting your thoughts, Scott. His painfully recognizable voice now ringing though your ears, you glanced behind one of the cabins, where he stood. You couldn't hear him that well but you could make out a few words..,"...If you ever go tellin' anyone about...I'll kick your...booted of the island..."
You got curious, standing up, you placed your sketchbook and pencil down gently. You snuck around the side of the broken down cabin, trying to listen to the conversation. You peaked your heard your from the side, and noticed Dawn next to Scott. Dawn looked frightened. Scott looked angry
"No one's gonna believe you anyway, they all think your crazy." He spat at her.
"They'll believe me," Dawn said sheepishly, clearly intimidated,
"No way in hell they won't! They all think your a creepy, psychotic weirdo, and you honestly think that they'll believe a word you say?! That's honestly funny," Scott started bitterly "and don't even think of going to your little friend, (Name), because I will find out."Dawn looked defeated. You gritted my teeth and gripped the side of the cabin so hard your knuckles were turning white. You needed to play it cool, though
"Hey guys, I noticed you two were back here, what's up?" You asked, waving your hand slightly. Scott looked surprised, and Dawn relieved. She smiled at you slyly. You felt the tips of your ears heat up. You stood behind her, putting and arm on her shoulder.
"None of your business." Scott said flatly.
"Oh okay," you started, before you could say anything else however, Scott walked off, scoffing. Leaving you with Dawn, she looked up at you, a smile on her dainty face."Hey, was Scott giving you shit?" You asked, she frowned, not making eye contact, she looked like she was pondering weather to tell you, or keep it a secret.
"I overheard your conversation." You stated.
"You did?" She asked, looking up at you, her voice made your heart flutter.
"Yeah," you admitted, silence feel upon you two.
Your hand remained on her shoulder, only this time, she was facing you.
"I'm sorry you had to listen to that," she said. You looked at her apologetically,
"No, don't apologize, I'm sorry you have to deal with that..,hey, you know what always helps me feel better?" You stated before grabbing her wrist and dragging her to the shoreline."Here, take your shoes and socks off," you began, " I found that walking helps me relax, youknow?" You questioned.
She hummed in response, looking at you. You looked back at her, she looked sorrowfully at you. She wasn't one to let comments like Scott's bother her, she really must be sad. She isn't even doing her normal 'I figured this was your way of coping because xyz' thing...
You two left your shoes behind, letting the water splash against your ankles, and letting the sand in between your toes, as the sounds of the waves was quite calming.
You two walked in silence for a while, eventually, her fingers intertwined with yours, blush creeped upon you cheeks and you looked surprised at her. She didn't look back at you, she just locked her hand in yours, and walked.Inevitably, you reached the end of the beach, you and Dawn hadn't spoken once during the walk, but it was okay. She seemed back to herself, and that was all that mattered.
"Thank you (Name), your very kind, your aura seems to get brighter everyday." You blushed even though you didn't know what the meant, but she was better now.
"Thanks, and hey, if Scott ever gives you shit for being the smartest person here, let me know, Kay?" You stated, she smiled Softly.
"I'm sorry, I know you feel worried about my interactions with Scott, but I can reassure you, people will believe me eventually, but it does get frustrating when people are oblivious to his clearly villainous actions." She sighed.
"Even if people don't believe you, I will." You reassured her, pulling her into a hug, you wrapped your arms around her and she embraced you."Thank you,"
Once you pulled away from the hug, you notice the sun setting behind you,
"Wanna sit with my by the beach before it gets to dark?" You asked, she nodded
"That would be lovely,"As the two of you sat along the beach, you talked. You talked about each of your friends back home, you talked about what you would do with the money, you talked about people on the island, about the island itself, you talked about how you admire Dawns attention to nature, and she admitted to admiring you sketches.
You two laughed and told each other jokes, but then, just before you had to head to bed,
"(Name)?" Dawn looked at you, and you back at her.
"Yes?"
"I really, really appreciated you determination to cheer me up. Scott's threats have been getting to me lately," she started, "your the only one on this island I can really talk to, without being presumed as weird." Her voice was soothing, she yawned, and smiled.
"That means a lot. I hate seeing Scott hurt you like that, you mean a lot to me, even more than the money." You blurted out the last part, and quickly covers your mouth.
"You mean more to me than the money as well. I like you, (Name)" she spoke softly, before placing a hand on your cheek, and turning your head to face hers. Then, she kissed you, her lips were soft, and sweet, like chocolate. At first you were surprised beyond all reason. Then, you kissed her back, and closed your eyes, scooting closer to her.
Once she pulled away, your eyes meet each others. She looked at you, a sweet smile on her face. As you looked at her, you also felt a small grin creep up on your face, you cheeks were hot and red.
Without saying a word, you kissed her again.(A/n; hi! 1236 words. Thank you for reading the first chapter-although it was quite short-it means a lot, have a wonderful night/day!)
