We still stood and spoke about stuff before the school bell rang. I thought about the inconvience of not being able to have my backpack right now and let out a long and loud sigh.

"Let's go--" Ryan starts walking only to get interrupted by an unfamiliar voice calling none other than my own name.

"Kirk!!" A feminine voice yells trying to gather my attention. I ignore it, trying to act like if I act like I didn't hear the person would go away. "W-wait up!" She calls for me and I stop, turning on my heels to face a 5'7, brunette who looked colourful... Too colourful for my liking... Although my eyes only widen as I recognise the thing she was running towards me with. My bag? I didn't think anyone cared enough to grab it for me. I did sort of freak them all out. I wait for her as she finally stops in front of me huffing and puffing. "Are you okay--" She holds out my bag and my eyebrows furrow.

"Why are you talking to me? I don't even know you..." I snap at her hating hearing the same question every five seconds. I sigh before composing myself and taking the bag. "You shouldn't do things for a stranger you know," I grumble softly as I look down into emerald green eyes that furrowed at my comment. "Thank you?" Seeing if that's what she wanted to hear, however her look didn't falter from her face it just got more angered than before.

"I did it because the other stupid people wouldn't, yet I see why they didn't you're a dick!" She barked back not taking my shit. My eyes widen however something gives me relief knowing she isn't gawking or acting like the other chicks would. "Jesus, good fucking first day huh?" She looked down as she spoke to herself. I feel a slight sorrow for her, as it seemed her day was more rougher than mine. She turns and I mentally curse at myself before I speak up catching her attention.

"I'm sorry." I barely get out before I leave to get away from the crummy school and walk to Lyla and Ryan who were definitely flirting. I just bang my hand on the roof for the second time today earning a squeal from Lyla and a chuckle from Ryan. I get inside the car and Ryan turns up the radio causing Lyla to sing loudly without a care.  We had decided to take the car because it was easier and we were a bunch of lazy teens who had other things to care about.

I wonder if people thought we'd be enemies rather than best friends? We were opposites anyways... Ryan was the 'boy next door' he had short brown hair and wore simple yet as he calls it 'lady killing' clothes however the ladies he drooled over seemed more interested in me. Lyla was loud and never took shit from anymore. We admired it in her as did everyone who knew her. She has naturally curled black hair with blonde streaks in them which made her dark skin glisten more in the sunlight. She was the girl other girls wanted to be. Me? I was the kid who wears metal shirts and listens to Metallica and Tool. I have admired curly dark brown long hair which was mostly admired by girls. I would often get asked what I used in my hair but to be honest I only use the 3 in 1 soap... I was often swarmed by girls but it doesn't happen anymore due to Lyla telling them I was uncomfortable even though I wasn't it was just fucking annoying to have it every morning like that. I seemed too involved in my own problems as the guys would put it.

My mind drifted back to the girl from before. I haven't seen her in any of my classes really. Is she new? I shrug, as I hum to the music. Why do I care to even think about her. She said it herself I'm a dick. As much as it was a surprise it was quite refreshing to see something different new at the boring and bland school.

"You remember how we met?" Ryan asks with a small grin playing on his lips which instantly brought a smile to both Lyla and I's faces. I nod and Lyla giggles.

"Kirk was getting swarmed like he was the last flower in the field by nectar hungry bees." She lets out a small giggle again and Ryan pouts jokingly.

"Yeah, I was so jealous of him!" He chuckles and Lyla rolls her eyes with a playful grin. "Yeah, I tried to step in and say something but--" I chuckle before interrupting.

"By step in and say something you mean try and flirt with them? Only to get yelled at..." I look at Ryan as he let's out a nostalgic frown. "God they hated you, and then Lyla came and helped out as much as she could before they ignored her." I grin teasing them both to which a smirk comes to Lyla's face as she speaks.

"Yeah! But you lured them away eventually... By threatening to throw your show at them to which they said 'FREE CONVERSES' then took your shoes and ran away! It was hilarious! You ended up having your first day without shoes!" She bursted out laughing along with Ryan and I.

"I never even got them back too! They were good shoes!" I pout playfully and Ryan's face scrunches up as he thinks about something.

"Ew! What if some chick has your stinky shoes in her shrine!" He gags and snickers loudly. We're all in tears from laughter by now which was followed by our stomaches hurting from the nostalgic memories.

A new favourite song of ours came on, 'Change (In the House of flies)' by deftones only released by May. "I watched you change..." We started yelling the lyrics dramatically as we fake sobbed our hearts out. Acting helplessly annoying to anyone hearing our loud, obnoxious screaming.

"-Into a fly" the song ends and we on time arrive at the foggy scene of the creepy 'grave yard' before us. I hear Lyla squeal lightly before we got out. I honestly feel terrible for her. She was practically forced to come along.

"Come on!" Ryan beckons us to follow as we walk to the entrance. He plays with the door handle before giving up. "Welp, I give up." He turns to walk away however I walk up to the door and put a leg up to kick the door in. To say it was 'successful' would be an understatement as the door was on the floor with dust flying around it. "That's why you're my best friend, Kirk!" Ryan praises me and I dodge his hug not wanting to be dusty.

"A-are you sure we should go inside? It's awfully dusty in there..." Lyla spoke with obvious fear in her voice as she attempts to make something up to hide it. I shrug looking at Ryan who chuckles.

"Babes, its fine! If anything happens I'll protect you!" Ryan starts punching the air which makes Lyla giggle and I just hold an amused look towards him.

"I think I would better if Kirk protected me then..." She giggles finally following Ryan in with me behind her. The dust makes Ryan cough several times but besides that the 'Grave yard' was silent. Not in a eery horror movie way though... In a welcome to your new home way. Well to me anyways. It really changed the whole setting.

"This is amazing!" Ryan smiles and holds Lyla's hand which I nod in agreement.

"Okay... But if there's any SERIAL KILLERS here I will push you over and run off..." She says it extra loud as if someone would be more scared of her than she is of them.  I just chuckle and follow my friends through the dark room.

"Hey look a rooftop view!" Ryan drags us to some doors with a smile.
