If you skipped the torture in last chapter, that's absolutely fine. Tommy was hurt very badly and ended up needing to be revived. Everyone saw. It broke spirits. Lots of angst. 2k words. Yee.

Also, I accidentally double spaced this chapter so yeah. Story time now.

Techno studies the map on the table. Where could Dream be? He's been over every loaded chunk on the server and now has a massive map. But no matter how much he studied, he can't find any common ground as to where the base could be. Across water, sure. Tommy had set off from the shore with tubbo and headed west. But there's nearly nothing there.  A few islands too small to note normally. But Technoblade is a genius and that didn't faze him. It was rather apparent to him that the base is underground. But if they all pull up to the wrong island, Dream could easily get the drop on them, and then it's game over.

Ideally, they'd go in separate parties and communicate together. But that far out, signals are iffy at best. So he decided to take a risk.

"I have an idea. Knowin Dream,

we're goin to have to be careful or he'll take us all out. It's as simple as this then, we send someone with a lodestone to purposely be captured." Techno offers to the group. Naturally, he's met with adversity.

"Who exactly do you purpose we send, then? We cant fucking risk it!" Quackity demands.

"Niki, you're pog but you don't matter enough to him. Quackity, he'd probably just kill you the second you put up a fight. And Ranboo guy, you would melt if there's a single accident. As for me, everyone knows I'd win that fight, so he'd avoid me like the plague. We need someone he can use as leverage against someone else that he at least thinks he can beat in a fight." Techno puts forth, as he points at each person respectively. Uncomfortable shuffling follows.

"Sam or Hannah. You guys might work. Karl too. Foolish, maybe. Fundy could work too, if we managed to convince him any of them would actually be alone. But he'd suspect that, so we're back to square one." Quackity says after a bit. Techno sighs.

"Now, I'm not a fan of this idea. But from what I'm seein, it's our best shot to go with someone specifically. A generally well liked person who has no real enemies. A person who's old enough and generally good enough at fighting to defend themselves against most threats and far too old to need a babysitter. Someone who would be a trophy to even have prisoner or-" Techno is cut off by Eret.

"You had us old. You mean Phil." They say. The pig nods solemnly. Phil in turn nods his head thoughtfully.

"That- yeah. I could do that." He says as if someone had only asked him to volunteer for a chore or something.

"Now Philza Minecraft can take care of himself. We just need you to be somewhere Dream will see you, doing something casual." Techno explains.

"Yeah mate, just tell me what to do." Phil agrees.

"Why is no one asking about how we're going to hide the lodestone?" Foolish demands.

"Mini lodestone. Phil has hundreds of hiding spots on his outfit, it shouldn't be too hard." Techno states.

"So... is it that easy?" Hannah asks.

"More or less. Just one more thing." Techno says. He walks closer to Phil, pulls out his bow and shoots down a single black bird swarming above.

"WHAT THE FUCK, MATE?" Phil yells and catches his chat member as it falls to the ground. But it's not his. This isn't a crow, it's a raven.

"We've had a mole this whole time. Now things should actually go well." Techno states simply.

"Imposter! Imposter! 7! Imposter! Dadza! Imposter!" The crows begin to scream in a way that even everyone else can understand.

Elsewhere, Dream freezes as he feels the arrow.

"Gone so soon? A shame." He murmurs, slightly wobbly as he continues to walk on. A minor inconvenience to him; it was only one of millions, afterall.
