It still felt wrong to him to awaken to anything other than shouting. Well okay sometimes they shouted here, but instead of that burning hot pulsing rage that oozed out of every word it was soft and gentle. Sometimes even followed by laughter, even when angry they never chose to be cruel. They never wanted to hurt each other. They never wanted to hurt him...

He's been staying in Will's younger brother's room since he was away, while they converted a guest room. He had adamantly told them that would be far too much and he didn't mind the living room couch or even the floor. Actually speaking of Will's brother did anyone tell him that he'd moved into the dude's room? They came and knocked on his door every six ish hours to remind him to take a binder break. Hell these nerds still show up and buy chicken from him when he is working! Is this what real family is?

They did practically everything as a family here, meals, game nights, movies, sneaking out at night when they thought Fundy was asleep and coming back covered in dirt. Were they potentially murderers? Yeah. Were they still better than his parents? Fuck yes! He honestly was pretty sure that there wasn't a thing they could do that would make him leave, they were treating him like an actual person, not even just a person but family.

Phil was the goofy grandpa who would always have sweets and hugs when you needed them. Techno was the nerdy uncle who pretends he hates you but heard about you being bullied and the next day the bullies are bruised and won't look you in the eyes. Tommy had always acted like the uncle who your grandparents had had old so he was pretty much your age, and who would always be there to talk and show up with ice cream after exams. And Will, he would never admit it aloud was like a father. The kind of dad who would sit on the phone with you for hours when you didn't want to leave your room, and who would sing you to sleep when you were sick. The kind of dad he had always wished for.

"Fundy buddy when you are ready there's breakfast!" A soft voice calls after two light taps on the door.

"I'll be out in a second Will." He calls back not noticing the smile that had fallen across his face. The man threw on a loose hoodie to give his ribs a break this morning, the Watsons didn't get upset with him for much but risking his health was always something they would.

He wandered out of the room and headed over to the kitchen to see Phil with a giant plate of waffles and assorted toppings in bowls.

"Geez what's the occasion?" Fundy chuckles as he is passed a plate.

"Well we have a surprise for you and Tommy is stopping back home for a bit so we can all show you together." Phil grins and ruffles the younger's hair.

"Where has he been staying anyway?"

"His friends and him are staying at a house to have a bit of an extended sleepover. School has been really stressful for them recently so it seemed like a nice break for them.

"That's sweet, Tubbo did seem really stressed last time I saw him. He ate like six chicken burgers before ordering takeout for Tommy and Ranboo." He recalls, the teen always did like stress eating his food.

"Anyways today is about you Fundy, what would you like to do before your surprise?" The blond awkwardly chuckles.

"Maybe a walk in the park with you guys?" He knows they live near a really nice park compared to the ones near his parents' house.

"Sounds lovely mate, would you like to go get some clothes after so you don't have to keep stealing them from Tommy's closet?" Phil smiles lovingly at the younger.
