Okay so maybe one date can make a truck load of difference.

Okay, so I should take you back to date night.

To start, it was the best night of my life.

He came up to my door and picked me up and far out can that boy dress well.

Seriously, he could wear a potato sack and still look like he should be on the cover of Vogue magazine.

He wore a button up shirt, navy blue jeans and Chuck Taylor's. But far out did he rock it.

"Wow Kendall, you look beautiful."

This night is already off to a good start.

"You don't look too bad yourself."

Smooth Kendall.

"Haha, shall we go?"

Let date night begin.

We caught a bus to the cinemas in town. We chatted a bit on the bus about everyday things. Until he asked a question that kind of caught me off guard a bit.

"Since, when did you start hanging out with Grace and Kath and all those girls?"

"Umm, a week into term I believe. Why do you ask?"

You think I'm not good enough from them aye? One way to treat your date.

"I was wondering because you seem so sweet and kind and those girls are kind of well, to put it lightly, absolutely horrible people!"

Oh, okay. Wow. He thinks I'm better than the Babes?!?

"Oh wow, okay. But surely you dated Grace last year?"

"Why do you think I left her? Those girls can be quite horrible, don't be fooled."

"But they've been so kind to me this year?"

They've let me sit with them at lunch and hang out with sometimes which is more than anyone has ever done for me this year.

"Really? Have they let you sit with them at lunch but they only talk to each other and not you?"

Well, yeah... kind of... the last and only time they have actually included me in a conversation was when we were talking about formal near the beginning of term.

"Do they only hang out with you when it is convenient for them?"

I get it, they are socialites, and they must have a busy life and can't always hang with me. But they did all organise to go to the mall last week and didn't invite me.

I'm getting confused now.

"Yeah, but what are you saying?"

"I don't mean to be rude. I think you are so much more than those girls. If anything they are holding you back and I don't want you to get drowned in their little pool of hatred. But I think they are treating you like you're the new Sam."

Holy crap.

Is it true?

Am I the new Sam?

I should probably let you know who Sam is and what happened.

Sam was a pretty girl with long brown hair and big brown eyes. No one really realised her beauty until the Babes took her out of hiding (possibly the only positive thing they've done to her). She used to hide behind big glasses and shy smiles, until the Babes showed her contacts and lip gloss. She was in my year but I didn't really talk to her (as I've mentioned, my social standing didn't really rank higher than two friends who were in the year above us) but she seemed nice enough. But all things nice and sweet attract wolves that just want to take it down.
