Roses. The scene was beautiful, if over the top, and the scent was almost overpowering, for Scott. And then the sound of his boyfriend's slight laugh calmed him, as he watched the muscled figure walk into the room. Scott walked over and slipped his hand easily into Matt's, receiving a light kiss on the corner of his mouth.

"I've booked us a table at that new Italian restaurant down the block." Matt said, pressing another kiss to Scott's cheek.

"You didn't have to."

"Of course I did. It's our 3 month anniversary!" Matt masked his voice with exaggerated offense. "Besides, I wanted to treat you."

"Well I have a treat of my own, but you have to wait until later." This time Scott locked Matt's lips in a passionate kiss.

Once it broke off, Scott started pulling Matt towards the car.

"Come on, we're going to be late!"

"That was wonderful, Matt. Thank you. Now let me pay."

"You're very welcome, darling. And, no. I am definitely paying." Scott knew how stubborn Matt could get, and backed down.

"Fine." He sighed. With that Matt put the money down and turned back to his boyfriend.

"Let's go. Though I think we'll walk this time. I'll get Foggy to get the car."

They stood and left, linking arms as they leisurely walked back the way they had come.

"I can't believe I'm lucky enough to have you." Matt whispered.

"I am just as lucky to have you." Scott replied softly and lovingly.

"My present?" Matt asked, as Scott unlocked the door.

"Your present." Scott nodded, and entered after Matt, walking round him and over to the cabinent for a small flat box. "Turn around."

Obediently Matt rotated and held his breath, as his boyfriend's strong arms reached around his neck. A small shock ran through him, as cold metal touched just below his collarbone. The chain fell around his neck, as Scott pulled him back round to face him.

"I got Ororo to help pick it out."

Matt was speechless as he ran his hand over the small gold heart with a ruby in the top right curve. Scott stepped closer, as Matt let a few tears slip down his cheek, under the reddened shades. Scott removed the glasses and placed them on the table, before bending down slightly to softly kiss Matt's closed eyelids. As he leant away, his boyfriend's, still beautiful, misted blue eyes opened and glanced up at him.

"I love you, Matt." Scott said, with as much feeling as such words could hold.

"I love you too, Scott. No matter what." Matt leaned up and locked Scott's lips in a sweet kiss, filled with unspoken words.

"No matter what."
