1. Audition

Y/N's pov

I've got the audition tomorrow, and I'm seriously freaking out. I don't have high hopes about getting picked, but you know, I always go all in for auditions. This one's a big deal because Todd Haynes is the director, and I'm a huge fan of his work. The idea of working with the legendary Sarah Paulson is also just mind-blowing. Plus, I'm dying to find out who the mystery co-star is because my gut says it's gonna be someone seriously awesome.

I'm in the middle of figuring out my outfit for tomorrow, and I'm leaning towards a suit. They just always hit the right note for me, and I feel super at ease in them. Thinking of going for a look inspired by something Cate Blanchett rocked once.

She's my ultimate crush, and whenever she rocks a suit, it's like a total heart-stopping moment for me. She's not just my crush; she's my all-time favorite actress, and I hold immense respect for her.

I've got the audition kicking off at 9 am tomorrow, and I'm planning to be there a bit early, just to be safe. Signing off for the night now because I want to be on top of my game for tomorrow.

The next day, 8 am

I'm set to head to the theater for the auditions. I'll grab a taxi and aim to be there by 8:30 am, 30 minutes ahead of schedule. Early is better in my book.

Already in the taxi, 8.30 am

"We're here, ma'am," the driver said.
"Thank you so much. Bye!" I replied, opening the door without realizing someone was there, and she ended up on the floor because of me. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry. Are you okay?" I said, closing the door.
"Yes, don't worry. It was my fault; I was in the middle," her voice sounded familiar. She finally stood up, and I could see her face. It's Sarah freaking Paulson! "Hello, I'm Sarah," she said kindly.
"I know who you are. I'm Y/N, by the way. Oh god, this is insane. Are you really okay?" she smiles.
"Yes, I am. Are you here for the audition?" she asks, even nicer than before.
"Yes, and now I'm even more nervous than I was before, knowing that you're here."
"Oh! Not just me. The other actress is also here, but I can't tell you who it is yet."
"C'mon! Give me a hint!"
"Nope, I'll tell you after the audition. I promise. "I nod.
"Okay, if you promise, I believe you. Are you going inside?"
"Yes, we can go together if you want to." I nod, and we start heading inside the huge building.

Once inside, I scan the area to locate the room I'm supposed to go to. "Oh! The room you're looking for is right there. I have to go somewhere else. See you later, Y/N!"
"Thank you so much, Sarah! Waiting for your promise!"

I step into the room, finding myself alone since it's only 8:40 am. Ten minutes later, a man enters. "Hi, are you here for the audition?"
"Yes."
"Okay, it was supposed to begin in ten minutes, but if you're ready, you can head into that room now. The team inside will ask you some questions to determine if you fit what we're looking for or not. If you're not ready, you can wait the ten minutes."
"Oh, okay. I'm ready."

9.15am

I walked into the room, finding three men inside. They inquired about my background, and afterward, they handed me a brief script to rehearse within the next ten minutes before performing. I felt a bundle of nerves; I'm not even sure how I managed it. Exiting the room, they expressed that my performance was quite good and mentioned they would share more information if I waited for about five minutes. So here I am, counting down the minutes.

5 minutes later

"Y/F/N!"
"Yes, it's me" I enter the same room as before.
"You are perfect for the character, we want you to play it. If you say yes, we'll suspend the rest of the auditions and you'll be meeting with Todd tomorrow at 10 am, and you can meet with some of the other cast right now because some of them are here. Well, just two of them."
"Oh my god! Yes! Yes, of course!" After countless auditions, the fact that they've finally chosen me is simply unbelievable! This is beyond incredible.
"So, who is the new actress?" Sarah said, entering the room.
"I guess it's me!" Sarah came to hug me.
"Congratulations! Now you're gonna meet my friend and our coworker."
"Oh! So she's your friend?"
"Yes. A really, really good friend. I'm sure you'll know her. C'mon, let's go. We're going to a restaurant for lunch, and you're coming with us."
