Kennedy POV:

I woke up to my annoying ass alarm. I turned it off and walked into the bathroom, I grabbed my tooth brush and put tooth paste on it and turned on the faucet but water didn't come out. "Great, mom didn't pay the bill again" I groaned quietly to myself. I brushed my teeth and grabbed the water bottle from next to my bed and rinsed out my mouth. I walked into my closet and grabbed a dark green sweatshirt, a pair of ripped jeans and got dressed, I put on my socks and grabbed my black converse. I grabbed my back pack and walked down the stairs. "Water's off again" I said as my mom pulled out a very expensive bag she had just bought from Gucci.
"Yeah, yeah I'll pay it later" she said. I rolled my eyes and grabbed a banana as my brother grabbed an apple. "Did you see the Uhaul truck next door" he asked. I shook my head no. "Apparently someone is moving into the haunted place next door" he said in a spooky tone. "Dude it's not haunted" I said "it could be, who knows maybe we live next to the Addams family now" he joked grabbing his bag and walking to get his car keys. "Now let's get to school before we are late" he said. I threw my banana peel in the trash and followed him out the door. As we pulled out of the driveway I noticed people carrying boxes. "The Addams Family" my brother whispered as we drove past. I smiled and shook my head. "They could be nice people" I said. "Mom said after school we are bringing over lasagna or something" he said. I nodded and watched out the window as we drove to the high school.
Once we got to the school we walked in and went our separate ways. I went to my locker and pulled out my math book and headed to my first period. I sat down in my seat and took out my homework and a pencil, when the teacher cleared her throat to get everyone's attention. "There are two new students today, Ethan and Grayson Dolan" the teacher said pointing to the two boys standing by her desk. "I expect you all to be kind and give them a warm welcome, now Ethan you will sit next to Conner over there" she pointed to Conner and he raised his hand. "And Grayson you will sit next to Kennedy"the teacher said. I raised my hand as she pointed to me.
Grayson sat next to me and smiled. I smiled back and turned to the teacher as she started class. After class I helped Grayson to his next few classes.
After school I walked to my brothers car and waited there. Then Grayson walked up to me. "Hey thanks for helping me around today" he said. Him and I had almost the same exact schedule so it was easy to be nice and help him around. "Oh it's no problem, I can help you tomorrow if you need" I smiled. He smiled and nodded. "That would be nice" he said. "Grayson let's go" his brother Ethan said walking past us. "I got to go, see you tomorrow" he said walking away.
"Who was that" my brother asked as he unlocked his car. "A new kid I helped around today" I said getting in the car. "It's good your making friends" my brother smiled pulling out of the school parking lot. Driving home I stared out the window and thought about Grayson. He was a lot nicer than all the other boys in our grade. When we got home I went to my room, put on a pair of grey sweats pants on and a black hoodie. I walked down the stairs and got out the ingredients to make lasagna for the neighbors, my mom walked into the kitchen, put on her brand new Kate spade apron and started helping me make the food. For some reason I was thinking about that kid Grayson again. I ignored my thoughts about him and continued to make the dinner.
An hour later the food was done, we got changed into more presentable clothes then my brother, my mom and I started walking the food over to the neighbors. We knocked on the door and waited. The door opened to show a sweet looking women. "Hi we are your neighbors we came to introduce ourselves and to meet the lovely people moving in" my mom smiled shaking the women's hand "oh hi, come in, you're just in time we just finished up unpacking the downstairs" she smiled. We walked in as my mother talked to the women who I heard her name was Amy as she said something about her kids rooms probably not being unpacked. "When we first moved in my husband and I didn't have any real food to make so I thought we'd bring you over something healthier than fast food" my mom smiled grabbing the lasagna out of my hand.
We walk into the kitchen and Amy grabbed a knife as my mom put the dish down. "That's so sweet, thank you. You should join us for dinner" Amy said smiling. "Oh that would be lovely" my mom smiled "kids come down" Amy yelled. Then two teen boys run down the stairs laughing together and a younger and older girl walked down behind them, probably there sisters. "Kids these are our neighbors the Derrins" Amy smiles. I look at the boys and see him. The boy that has been flooding my brain all day. Grayson.
