☺Co. ???, Somewhere in Ohio

I woke up to a bright light being flashed in my eyes.
A ☺, one of the only docile entities in existence was standing over me. Basically, no one saw these things anymore. They were all employed at ☺ Co. and seemed to never leave the various facilities ☺ Co. owned.
Everything hurt, but I mustered up my strength to lift up my hand to signify I was somewhat alive. The ☺ stopped fashing the flashlight in my eye, but there was still something shining in my eye. A blueish light had basically blinded me in my left eye...
"You are alive and awake"
The ☺ seemed almost like a robot
"Um... Yeah, I guess I am."
"Your Treatment was successful."
The smile stared into my blueish eye. I was beginning to see but everything was tinted blue and considerably brighter.
"Oh... Alright."
I sat up.
"So..."
Something wasn't right. My skin seemed blueish. Even though my vision was slightly tinted...
I closed my right eye. My vision was blue.
I closed my left eye...
My skin was blue.
"I can sense the panic you feel at this moment, but do not fear. You will get a name, a job, and a happy... life."
The ☺ seemed calm. And bored, as if this had happened before.
"You know, Shade, you should be thankful. Not everyone survives this."
"Shade...? Is there someone else here or...?"
I looked around the room. Everything seemed slightly distorted to an extent.
"That is your new name." The ☺ said in an annoyed tone.
"I'll have to get used to that. Where am I going to work?"
"In the facility"
"What?"
"Oh, right. You Delvers call it the depths"
☺ giggled.
I didn't know ☺ could show emotion.
"Oh, we can show emotion."
It can read my mind?!?
"You didn't realize that already?"
☺ sighed.
"You have a long way to go to get adjusted to your new lifestyle."
I had a new name, job, and life...
And now I was an entity...
