(Chapter 8)

I was sitting next to Lexi Olinsky at the bullpen, rubbing her back for comfort. Erin was leaning on the desk holding her hand.

She witnessed a shooting.

Hank walked upstairs and me and Erin walked over to him.

"She's okay. She's just in shock." Erin explained.

"Care to explain what happened to you last night?" I asked him.

"I got it handled." Voight replied.

"Everyone knows you got pinched." I exclaimed.

"And?" He asked and walked over to Lexi. "Hey, how you doing, kiddo?"

"Hi, uncle Hank." Lexi said, and Alvin came running up the stairs.

"My god. Hey." Alvin said.

"I'm so sorry, dad." Lexi said, and stood up to hug him.

"What happened?" O asked.

"I was at a party." Lexi replied.

"Until dawn? Does your mom know you're here?"

"No."

"What did you do? Sneak out?"

"Sergant." Platt said. "Someone here from the gang unit to see you. It's about the shooting in Pilsen."

"All right, I'll be right down. Why don't you take her for a cup of hot chocolate or something?" Hank said to Erin and me.

"Hey, she doesn't testify. To anything." Olinsky said.

"I know." I said as he grabbed me arm with more force than necessary.

"I got it." I said.

"I only met Russel a couple times. He's a really nice guy. He offered to walk me to the train." Lexi told us.

"Did you know that he was in a gang?" Erin asked.

"He was always cool to me." Lexi replied.

"So what happened in the alley?" Erin asked.

"Uhm, the guy came up. Russel and him started arguing." Lexi started.

"About what?" I asked, I noticed Olinsky standing by the door.

"He told Russel 'you're in the wrong neighborhood'. The guy was totally gakked out."

"Did you get a name or..?" I questioned.

"I heard Russel call him Calaca?" Lexi said.

"Okay, come on, let's go home." Olinsky said.
