Persephone, wife to hades the king of the underworld. She was captured by him on his dark chariot before they dissappeared back into the cracks in the ground.
I couldn't help but smile at the nostalgic story as I gently closed the book in my hands. The sound of flames and screams making the window beside me vibrate with unbelievable might. Tho it was the only thing strong enough to keep the noises and heat muffled outside the castle walls.
I sat inside the great library, floors cool to the touch thanks to the castles powerful barrier from the chaos outside.
My fingertips traced over the golden plated book title of Hades and persephone. Perhaps I wasn't similar to her. But we were both rulers and consorts to the mighty Kings of the dead.
I couldn't help the giggle coming from my lips when the thought of calling him a 'Mighty king of the dead.' he was definitely mighty, But king of the dead he was not.
"What's so funny, love?" a deep voice enchanted my head to turn to it. On a red velvet couch sat a very darkend man. His dramatically heavy cloak tossed over the arm rest and his legs crossed, showing off dark boots with a heel. Something to make him seem taller oddly enough.
His arm gently rested over the back rest of the couch and a small book rested between his fingers. In his long raven black hair sat a crown braided in as to not slip off his mighty head.
"Nothing, my dear. I was simply wondering how I ended up with such a brilliant husband." I flattered looking back at his deep unnatural black eyes looking at me through fallen locks of hair.
He wasn't the devil. He was merely the kings magical torturer and army commander. Yet our residents was found deep underground where mother earth's heat beckoned at our doorstep.
Thankfully, he married a beautiful enchantress who saved all guests from burning up upon entry of our castle.
Seeing as he had gone back to reading I simply glided towards him letting the thin silk of the soft blue grown flutter behind me.
Holding the book in my arms I took a seat once more beside him. Settling myself into the spot where his arm rested over the couch. As I was hoping, his arm didn't stay settled for long before he gently wraps it around me, his now captured pray and gently caresses my arm.
"What are you reading?" he pondered setting his book down and taking the one in my arms.
"Hades and Persephone, did you know that the greeks wrote a book about us?" I said with a snicker.
This lead to a delighted "Tsk" slipping from his lips before he glanced back down at me. "My, it seems they have. Perhaps I must burn them to ashes for not crediting their muses?"
He took the opportunity to pull me down onto his chest letting us lay on the couch with a soft chuckle.
I lift myself from his chest, with my palms pushing me off his chest."Perhaps this would be more romantic if you weren't wearing this dark cluttering armor."
I traced down his chest piece lightly before it suddenly puffs into thin air thanks to the magic energy on my fingertips. I flopped back into his chest now only covered in a white linen shirt that had quite the low V neck.
I smirked ever so slightly as his fingertips brushed through my hair and over my shoulders.
"Darling.. You'll need to return that, we still have guest's who will be arriving soon." he said in a warning voice.
"Alright! I'll summon it back! After I've had my cuddles!" I sigh before smiling and closing my eyes.
His gentle hands combing through my hair made me sigh with relief at his fraction of undivided attention.
We layed in silence before he simply whispered." I love you, my queen."
And with a small smile I returned to his gaze lifting my head."I love you two, My king." and simply kissed him delicately, hoping this quiet moment will last a little longer.
