When I woke up, it was dark. I could just sit on my bed, waiting, but since it was dark, I could also explore the building I was in. I weighed my options, while listening carefully at the door of my room. There wasn't the usual hustle that accomponied the Diseased, so I took the key and unlocked the door. I stepped into a long hallway, with rooms on both sides. To my left, there was a staircase, leading only downwards. That was a relief; no chance I would be surprised by the Diseased coming downwards. For some strange reason, they had a tendency not to walk upstairs, so I was pretty safe. I checked the door of the room next to me. It was silent inside, and the door was unlocked, so I opened the door and peeked inside. It was a replica of the room I'd woken up in. I checked more doors, but it was the same everywhere. Some were locked, and there was one locked room where I could hear someone shuffle around inside. I sent a quick prayer, thanking for the locked door, and went back to my room, locking the door. I sat on my bed again, and ate two small blocks of chocolate. I didn't want to be in debt with my mysterious savers, but I was hungry. After that, I just sat, combing my hair with my fingers, using some water to wash my face. Finally, it seemed as hours had passed, when I heard footsteps and soft voices. The footsteps came up the stairs and stopped in front of my room. There was a knock on the door. "Are you awake?" It was a man's voice calling, a strong and heavy voice. "Yes," I answered. There was the typical sound of a key unlocking a door, and then the door opened. Two figures stepped inside, but their torchlight blinded me. I shut my eyes, looked away and opened them again. Their torches were pointed at the ground. Two men were standing in front of me, one bald and the other with dark curls, one tall and the other big. "How are you feeling?"
"Fine". "You were bruised badly", this is the other man speaking. I smile. "Nothing I'm not used to", I answer. "Are you ready to come with us?" I thought, but realized that I had no better option. I nodded. "Where will you take me?"
"Somewhere safe."
