For all of my addicted readers, I'm putting up an extra from the POV of Macavellian. Note, this takes place RIGHT AFTER Ren's capture and a lot of it will be confusing because there are elements in the plot line that will not be revealed till MUCH later on. Think of it as a sneak peak. ;)

I raked my eyes over the room. It had to be perfect. This would be the first thing she would see when she woke up. I could barely wait. For so long, I have searched for a gold like her. The Portal. I had found one before, but that had been when I was young. Rash. I had not handled her right. I took too much. This time, I would be more careful. if I messed up this one, He would not be happy with me. She was needed.

I jerked my thoughts away. I was not supposed to think of Him. It was dangerous. Instead I examined the room again. Two chairs and a oval table between them. The chairs were not opposite, but not beside each other. Perfect. I could not get too close. She could use magic. Even without her full powers and sedated, Ren would be strong. Stronger than any faerie ever since dear Peregrine, my first catch. My first Portal. I wanted my next one. She was miles away, in the company of my newest recruit. My newest traitor. He annoyed me so, but it would have taken longer to get her if it was not for him. Oh well, I could dispose of him soon.

Then my thoughts turned to my wretched ally. He wanted her. I had received his message before I came to inspect the room. the idiot actually wanted to take my catch from me. Then the messenger had called him 'The greatest sorcerer in history' I knew who the greatest sorcerer in history was, and it was most definitely not him.

He said that he had a plan to capture the One of Five, and if we paired them, she would be incredibly more powerful. Even more then Peregrine herself. He would send Vulcan to bring her back to Dragnos in a few months time so she could be trained with her partner. Then they could both be returned to my custody after he had used them to take Dragnos. He claimed that it would be easier to defeat the Fae if the might of the dragons were behind us.

Of course the poison dragon had never met a gold. He did not know that she had to mate on her 18th birthday. The plan would have to be slightly altered. I had given the Darke minion a return message saying that the pair would have to be turned over to me a month before this occasion. If Dragnos had been captured or not.

I could not put up with this idiot much longer. He was getting on my nerves.

I heard running coming from the hallway. I opened the door to find a small orange and white wolf standing outside. Tail tucked between his legs. This was my closest adviser's son. What a disappointment he was. An orange wolf. Ridiculous. He turned to human form. A boy with scruffy orange hair and light eyes.

He looked at me fearfully and stammered a few words. "The - the girl! She - she -" He froze. I growled a bit at him. Nothing like some fear to loosen a tongue. He hurried out the rest of the message. "She sent a distress call to the silver!" He whimpered "Her memory is erased."
