Benny's POV

I was at Ethan's house having our movie night which was almost every night. We were next-door neighbours and best friends since were both in diapers. It's not we needed to go home before the night ended. We trying to watch the newest horror movie when Ethan began to talk about Sarah seemingly out of nowhere. "I still don't know if I should tell her," he had said. "Dude everyone knows. Even Rory, "I said. "Everyone but Sarah. I'm sure she doesn't like me. Well, she does but only as a friend, "He went on in this turmoil. "Dude I tried on Valentine's day and you saw how that worked out, "I said. 

The reality I wanted was to have the perfume ready before school and try it on Ethan since I had a crazy crush on him. I knew it when I figured out what soulmates were. I wanted to know what it would be like if he liked me back but I guess that failed since every teenage girl did try to kill us. I just don't what I would do without Ethan. Would I have even known about my powers without him? The answer is no.

Meanwhile, Ethan is still going on about Sarah. I lose it. "Sarah. That's all you ever talk about anymore. tonight was our night. I'm going home. Come to talk to me when you have all of this figured out we can spend some time together without you zoning out every 6 minutes, "I yelled standing up. "What the hell Benny? I woke up in a pitch-black room. That's weird. Both Ethan and I kept our blinds open. I got up to my computer and decide to try and call Ethan and say sorry about last night. I opened my contact list but I did even know half of the names. Where was Ethan's name? I tried to search it up but it was like Ethan was never real. I tried calling his number but it was disconnected. He never disconnects my calls.

I go down to talk to Grandma. Grandma gave me breakfast but I didn't feel like eating as I just sat there. "You're never this quiet. What's wrong, "Grandma asked. I sighed still feeling bad about what had happened. "Ethan and I had this fight and now he won't talk to me, "I said. "Benny, "Grandma started in a confused tone, "Who's Ethan?" I felt my chest tighten and some type of burning feeling went over me. I ran out of the door and to school. Ethan adored my Grandmother and she loved to take care of us. What about Jane? Grandma babysat her since she was born. I walked into the hallways I walked with him this time all alone. I looked for his face in the crowd but he wasn't there. I slowly trudge to our- no my locker and see someone I do know.

"Sarah, "I say confused as to why she's by my locker and she seems happy to see me. "Look Jesse said to," she began to say before I cut her off by saying, "Jesse, he's still alive?" She looked at me confused. "Well you did help him take his coven to new heights our little magic user," She said and walked away. I rushed to the school bathroom and go to the last stall. I still had my magic according to Sarah. I go through my spellbook. There has to be something I can do to reverse this, to get Ethan back. I read through the book all day, sometimes reading a paragraph twice but nothing. Nothing about the world you know changing and nothing about how to get Ethan back.

I need a more professional opinion. I go out and get my bag. I rush home stopping for a brief moment to look at the house I spent my childhood in. Rolling in the mud in the backyard after it rained. Playing video games all night long. Eat insane amounts of candy and ice cream. All of those things with Ethan. I need to get him back and I don't care what I have to do to get him. I go to her library where she is surrounded by books. "I expected you home sooner. I knew something was off the moment you ran out the door. "But I've read my spellbook and I found nothing," I said. In case of their mail was still sent here, "Grandma said. "They moved to Belgrave and I remember Samantha Morgan was pregnant. He might be there," She said

"Grandma, "I whispered as if I was begging her. "He's waiting for you. If you truly love him go," she said and gave me the car keys. I rushed out the door and jump in the car. I drove on until I reached the address. 2 Jorden street. I look at the house for a few minutes. I compose myself and knocked on the door. I wait and when the door opens there he is. Ethan is right there in front of me. "Can I help you, "He asked me.

"I'm Benny Weir and I, uh- I lost my best friend. I woke up this morning completely empty and alone and I couldn't figure out why, but then I did. I missed him. I missed him playing video games. I missed him playing around with me, I miss him so much, "I say things I couldn't say to the Ethen I grew up with. This Ethan didn't interrupt my speech. He stood there, one hand on the doorknob behind him and a suspicious look in his eyes the whole time. "Okay?" "I'm sorry, but- I need him back. I need him to know all these things. Thanks for, you know, listening," I walked away quickly, my hands deep in my pockets to hide the way my hands were shaking.

"I hope you find him, "I hear him say. I look back at him. "You sound like you love him a lot," He said. "I do and I wish I told him, "I said. Ethan nodded and closed the door and I walked back and just drove back to Whitechapel. Grandma was still looking for a way when I got back but everything that could work was banned. "Did you tell him, "She asked once she saw me come in? "In a way, I knew he would understand," I said. "We both should get to bed," I said and helped her to bed as I went to my own I thought of one thing. If I ever get home, I'm not wasting any time. I'm telling him my feelings.

I woke up the next morning and I decided to stay home. I hear footsteps coming to my door. I know it was grandma. Maybe she would take pity on me. I groan and pull the cover over my head as the door opens up. "I'm up. Can I just stay home, "I say? "Why? So you don't have to see me, "I hear a familiar voice say. I throw my blanket off and see Ethan. 

"Ethan, "I ask breathlessly. "Look, I know I was...touchy last night. I'm sorry about that but you can't just ignore my calls. That's not how we do things, Benny. Talk to me," he says. "What's your address, "I asked. "Wh-what's my address? Benny, I live next door idiot," Ethan said. "I'm back, "I yelled in success. "Thank you my magic, "I yelled. Ethan looked a little spooked and said, "So I'm gonna come back in and start this entire conversation over again." "NO," I grab his arm.

"Listen, I had a nightmare, I guess, last night. I dreamed that you and I-, that we had never met and Jesse won 'cause we didn't have you. You lived an entire town over and I went after you and I found you. You didn't remember me but I said that I lost you and that..," I trail off not knowing if I should tell him. I promised myself I would. "That's what, "Ethan asked. "That ever since I found out what the word soulmate means I've been in love with you, "I say. The silence fills the room as I only hear breathing. "What did I say," he asked. "That he hoped I find you and tell you how I feel, "I say.

"Did you,"he asked, "I don't know, "I say. "I don't Sarah was ever the one I was meant to be with," he says and he pulls me down and his lips meet mine. I feel my eyes widen in surprise but I close them and kiss him back pulling him close to me. I pull away after we need air. Panting I say, "Ethan, I love you."
