**TW: little mention of violence and blood**

I woke up to the one thing I hate most in the world. The sun. Why do you have to blind me when I wake up huh? Ruined a good, and rare, dreamless sleep. Stupid sun. I blink open my eyes to find Poppy reorganizing some shelves full of potion vials. I'm about to sit up when a vial slips through her fingers and flies towards the tiled floor. I don't think and I barely move, the only thing I do is flick my wrist and the vial freezes in mid-air, a foot away from crashing into a million pieces.

"I'm sorry." I say when I see I've startled her from the sudden action.

"Oh it's ok, I just didn't know you had woken." She doesn't mention anything about my casual use of wandless magic, she knows I master at it and use it often while helping out here in the hospital wing. "But now that you're up, let's see how you're feeling, shall we?" She walks over to me and places the back of her hand on my forehead and smiles softly. "Well to me it feels like you're better, how do you feel?"

"Much better thanks to you." I answer truthfully and smile.

"Oh Tobias you flatter me. Now I believe breakfast has just ended recently and your first class today starts in 5 minutes, so drink this and off you go." I'm handed a nutrition potion and shooed out the doors.

But before I go too far, I scream back to the closing doors, "Bye! I'll be back later!" And I'm soon walking, late may I add, into my first class of the day: Transfiguration.

"Mr. Earthman, care to explain why you are late, again, to my class?"

I freeze mid-step, which makes me lose my balance, and the next thing I know I'm falling towards the floor just like that potion vial earlier. I put out my hands and close my eyes to brace myself for impact, but the impact never comes. Instead, I feel two strong but soft hands grip onto my waist and hoist me up, my back now pressing very firmly into a well defined chest. My mind hates me right now, I conclude, because at that moment, while I'm preparing to turn around to look at my rescuer, I start to think, Please be hot, please be hot, please be hot.

"You alright?" A deep whisper breathes in my ear, sending a subtle shiver down my spine. I take a step away and then around, just to be met with...

"Black."

"Earthman." He retorts back in a tone clearly moking my own.

"Thanks."

"Anytime for a damsel in distress." He smirks while I just roll my eyes at his comment and turn back around facing the professor.

"Hospital Wing miss." That's all I say before I'm walking towards my desk at the back corner of the classroom.

The rest of class and most of the day went uneventful, which I'm not complaining about of course. Contrary to anyone's beliefs, I like the peace and quiet, I like just relaxing one day without stressing about much. And this day was going just like how I like it, that is until I was walking towards the hospital wing. I had just turned the corner to the hallway that held the doors to my destination when I come across a not so lovely sight. There, a few feet in front of me, was Snape being pushed to the ground by a dirty blond, blue eyed boy with a VERY punchable face. I've seen him around before...but where? Now you see, bullying goes on around Hogwarts everyday, I mean it even happens to me, so even though I'm used to seeing scenes like this, doesn't mean I like it. I sigh, getting myself ready for what I'm about to do.

I put on the best forced smile I can muster up and stride happily towards the familiar boy, "Hey man guess what?!"

With barely even a glance at me he says, "What?"
