*TW: mention of the death of a family member*

After landing outside my cabin deep in the woods with the herd, I turn back into my human form. I stand up and head to the front door, unlocking it, and heading inside.

Wow, I guess Helta was right, I do need to clean this place.

I just wave my hand and my 3 bed, 2 bath cabin starts to clean itself. I'm heading up the stairs to my room to try to take a little nap but am interrupted mid-step by Blaise, the second oldest and only adult male, frantically calling out to me.

Inkwing! Tobias! Come quick! Hurry! There are three young boys out there in the trees!

I lose all rational thoughts except for one: keep my family safe. I run out the still open door and point my wand towards where the herd is looking and yell, "Accio, hidden boys!" My jaw drops at the sight in front of me.

"What the bloody hell are you doing here?!" I'm angry, no actually, I'm not. I'm bloody livid!

Lupin, Potter, and Black all cower under my glare and magical force coming off of me in waves.

Lupin, of course, gathers his Gryffindor courage and steps forward, looking at me, not quite in the eyes but not at the ground either, "Look, Tobais, I know you might be mad but-"

"MIGHT BE MAD?! NO LUPIN I'M NOT MAD! I'M FAR FROM IT ACTUALLY! IN MERLIN'S NAME, WHY ARE YOU HERE?!" I'm now standing in front of the herd, as to shield them from anything the three idiotic, careless gremlins in front of me might do.

Potter tries to be Lupin I guess because next thing I know, I'm listening to his nonsense. "Hey mate, let's calm dow-" He immediately shuts up once Lupin gives him a look, which I'm grateful for because if he had kept on talking, I would've been sent to Azkaban.

Lupin then sighs and looks back at me, looking as calm as ever, and speaks as so too. "Tobais, I'm sorry, we all are. We didn't mean to intrude or cause a panic, we swear. We just saw you walking towards the Forbidden Forest and got worried, curious too yes, but also worried. James, Sirius, and I all know perfectly well what kind of dangers are in here, and while we have no doubt you can take perfect care of yourself, we still got worried about you. So yes, we followed you to the clearing, but then the events that happened there spiked our curiosity, and while we aren't Ravenclaws like you, we do get curious at times, and it, most often than not, leads us into trouble. So yes again, we followed you here to your cabin, I presume? We knew we shouldn't have done what we did, but we did, and we are sorry and hope you can forgive us."

"And um you know, not kill us..." I hear Potter squeak. My anger has lessened a bit from hearing the explanation, so he's come out from cowering behind his werewolf friend, but I can tell he's still hesitant towards me.

I scoff and shake my head at them, "There's a reason you lot weren't chosen in Ravenclaw." And to that Potter makes an offended noise and holds both hands to his heart, Lupin shakes his head and has a small smile, and Black...and that's when I notice Black isn't even paying attention and ain't even next to his friends anymore. I hear a noise behind me and quickly turn around, afraid something happened to him- I mean the Thestrals.

I sigh in relief upon seeing no one hurt but instead Black kneeling infront of one of the kids, Pic to be exact, and petting his head and sides.

Tobias, look! He's nice and gentle AND he can see us! Can we keep him? Pleeease?!

And that's when I remember that only specific people can see Thestrals. I look at Black, with awe and sympathy. I know I shouldn't ask this, but I'm curious and I'm known to be blunt about things when I'm curious. "Who was it?" My soft tone towards him surprising even myself.
