Time skip

The air was no longer filled with unpleasant stenches or thick smoke. It had cleared not too long ago, leaving a beautiful blue sky in its place. The shining sun peeked through the clouds for what felt like the first time in ages. It was all over. Herobrine's reign. All Jesse's pain and suffering. Everything. Jesse was overcome with a wonderful sense of relief as she wandered across the land. Her friends were safe, and she was given a second chance at life. She would not let that go to waste this time around.

Jesse looked down at her hands, which were still glowing. She let out a sigh. Alex never did answer her questions. She disappeared shortly after Herobrine's death. Perhaps she would never come back. Only time would tell. But then, who would tell Jesse what this all really meant? What was she? Would this be her identity for the rest of her life? She truly wished for answers, but for now, she was just glad to take things one day at a time.

Where exactly was Jesse heading? There was only one place she yearned to be. Home. She walked alongside the trees, knowing that with every step she took, she was one step closer. One step closer to being reunited with her friends, who thought she was dead. Jesse wasn't keeping track of the time, but she couldn't have been gone for too long. Maybe a day or two? All she knew was that she wanted to return as soon as possible.

Meanwhile...

"We need to tell them!" Radar argued, walking nervously back and forth in the main hall.

"Would someone please tell him to quit yapping!" Ivor pressed his forefingers to his temple in aggravation.

"Radar, your pacing is stressing us all out." Petra groaned. "What you need to do is take a chill pill."

Radar's eyebrows lifted in surprise, and he started a rant against her. Before anyone knew it, the room turned into a noise fest.

"You all need to stop!" Lukas shouted, perhaps slightly angrier than he intended.

Everyone finally simmered down, giving Lukas the space to talk.

He cleared his throat. "I get this is tough, but Radar is right. Jesse would want us to tell the people."

Axel lifted his finger to protest, but Lukas cut him off. "Sooner rather than later."

A brief silence passed over.

"I agree," Olivia spoke up. "But who's going to tell them?"

Silence passed yet again, no one wanting to step up to be the bearer of this horrible news, until at last, someone did.

"I will."

Jesse didn't know how long she had been walking, but looking up to find the moon, which now stood in the sun's place, she guessed it must've been a while. She had to be close. The constant chirping of crickets rang in her ears, bantering her with every step she took. In the near distance, she made out a familiar road. Her eyes widened in excitement. Without hesitation, she dashed towards the road to discover that it was indeed the path leading to Beacontown. Jesse let out an involuntary squeal. She could hardly wait to see her friends and tell them everything. What would their reactions be? She'd find out soon enough. Jesse took off into a sprint.

She ran faster than she ever had before, unable to focus on running out of breath. There was only one thing on her mind. She felt a strange feeling of liveliness as she ran beneath the bright night sky shining down upon her. Her breaths were quick, but she didn't dare stop to catch a break. Seeing the walls of her town only made her pick up her speed. Tears of joy streamed down her face, leaving a cool trail down to her cheekbone. Upon reaching the gates, it was, only then that she came to a stop. But no one noticed her. In fact, all the townspeople seemed to be gathered in front of the mansion. Jesse grabbed hold of the bars, aching to get a glimpse of what was going on. Although it was quite difficult to see clearly, Jesse's 20/20 vision could not fail her now. She rose onto her tippy-toes, trying to make up for her lack of height. Only a couple of seconds later did someone take the stage.
