"You have your killer, now what will you do?"

Striker's question was a soft whisper in my ear. I turned to look at him, noting how his normally smirking grin was nowhere to be found. Clearly, he found this as serious as I did.

I looked back at Neferet. The disheveled priestess had stumbled to her feet. When our eyes met, I knew what had to be done.

Neferet may have opened her mouth to speak, but I was the one who captured the crowd gathered around us, "This woman has betrayed our trust in the name of chaos. Our friends are gone, taken from us in the most horrific ways."

A hush had settled over the crowd. Even Neferet kept her mouth shut.

"Chaos has been welcomed into our midst. Set stalks our halls seeking blood. It is time to call upon Sekhmet to banish him back where he belongs. Guards, deliver this sinner to Sekhmet's temple. Tell the head priestess to offer her to the goddess in exchange for cleansing our home."

"No!" Neferet's screech echoed off the walls as she was seized. I watched as she was drug into the night.

Striker raised an eyebrow in surprise, "Well, that's a bit of karma."

"It balances the scales," I replied dully, "It restores ma'at."
