After having to sit through mind-numbing classes I have already taken, I finally get to go to history class with all my friends. I couldn't wait to give Tanner a piece of my mind.

I walked into Mr. Tanner's classroom and took the vacant seat beside my sister in the second row of the room, Bonnie sitting on the other side of my sister. The two of them talked to each other about their day as I pulled out my things.

As I sat up Stefan walked into the room and sat down in the seat behind me. Seeing as there was still two minutes before class started, I figured I had enough time to start working on my mission to befriend Stefan.

I turned into my seat and addressed this universe's version of Edward Cullen with a friendly smile, "Hi, I'm Serena Gilbert. I hope you are liking it here in Mystic Falls." I then held out my hand for a handshake, praying that he would take it.

Stefan smiled, taking my hand in his for a friendly handshake. "Hi Serena, I'm Stefan Salvatore. And I like what I have seen here so far." He said, glancing at my sister then back at me before releasing my hand after realizing that he had been holding my hand for a little longer than what society considered normal.

I hummed then responded with, "My sister is something else, isn't she?"

Stefan looked at me with shock, but quickly masked it with confusion. "What are you talking about?"

"Elena. I saw the way you were looking at her in the hallway this morning and how you kept glancing at her in French class. You like her." I say teasingly.

"That obvious, huh." He asks nervously.

"Just a little." I answer with a small smile.

"Don't work, I'm 99% sure she likes you too." I say quietly.

"And the other 1%?" He asks.

"The other 1%, is her wondering how long it takes to do your hero hair every morning." This caused Stefan to let out a loud laugh. I smiled in victory.

I quickly jotted my phone number down on a piece of paper and handed it to Stefan as the bell rang. "Here, text me if you ever want tips on my sister or just a friend."

With a smile, I turned around and gave as much attention as a bored student could to Mr. Tanner. I zoned out of classed, bored by Mr. Tanner's tone of voice until I heard him address my sister and then I saw red.

"I was willing to be lenient last spring for obvious reasons, Elena, but the personal excuses ended with summer break."

Before Stefan could interrupt like in the show, I did. "And I was willing to be lenient last year for not caring, Mr. Tanner, but you just emotionally berated a student who just lost her parents. Now I suggest teaching your students that there were 346 casualties unless you are counting the local civilians instead of insulting your students or I'm sure the board of education would be happy to find a teacher capable of doing so." Everyone stared at me in shock. The old Serena barely ever spoke, and I just threatened a teacher.

"Th–that's c-correct. Except there weren't any civilian casualties in this battle." Mr. Tanner said once he managed to collect his bearings.

"Actually, there were about 27 civilian casualties. Confederate soldiers fired on the church believing it to be housing weapons; they were wrong. It was a night of great loss." Stefan butted in, "The founders' archives are stored in civil hall if you want to brush up on your facts. Mr. Tanner."
