The night felt endless. I had everything in the world. Alex was in the seat beside me. my two best friends opposite us with their arms around each other. what could be more perfect than this. I held my pint high. "To freedom" I say Loudly "To freedom!!" They follow "To the revolution!" They repeat again. "To Alexander!" We clink glasses and drink the night away, as the black of the sky fades into a warm sunset orange. "Alex?," I ask slurring my words as I speak. "Yea??" He replies slightly startled by the mention of his name. "I love you."

We stare at each other for what feels like forever. He reaches his hand up to my face and I smile a wide and genuine smile. Alex brushes the stray hairs from my face behind my ear. In that moment I couldn't help myself. The look of passion in his eyes seemed to blind me. I leant toward him, he leant toward me. It felt like bliss. His lips touched mine and in my drunken haze it felt like we had been kissing for hours, for my entire life. I didn't ever want this to end.

When he pulled away I was taken aback. Had that really happened or was I just imagining it? A man I had only just met a few hours ago who of which I really liked just kissed me. Alexander kissed me. I must have had a strange expression because he just started laughing. "What?" I speak concerned but also through some laughter of my own. "Nothing its just, I never thought this would happen." He replied. He looked away when he said that, a look of content on his face. How was it that this man could be so calm all the time?, even after he had just kissed me in front of a tavern of people. I don't know where this relationship would go but I do know one thing. It was fate..
