This night was like any other and could have been calm and peaceful.
After all they had just succeeded in another particularly difficult mission which required discretion, tactics, coordination and confidence.
They had pulled off what was shaping up to be a real disaster, so why did they have to start butting each other's heads again...
Raph who had yet tried to keep his cool could only explode once this damn mission was over, he could release all the pressure and keep deep inside him for hours now. Unfortunately it was Leo who took it all, while his brother's words did not even concern him:
- Do you realize ? He rushed headlong towards the enemy again, and this time there were a lot of them! I'm tired of having to constantly watch him, he never listens to what we say to him and Donnie who drags him into his bloody delirium does us no favors either!
Leo raised an eyebrow, not understanding why he tasted it instead of Mikey...
- And you say that to me because?
- Erhh...because you are our leader! You should be the one to fix these kinds of problems! Not me and even less the other hothead!
- Of course...it's the leader, always the leader who has to do the babysitter or the mother hen... As far as I know we are associated, we are a team and we are all adults...or almost, so no! I'm not your mother, if there's a problem with Mikey you tell him! It's not up to me to fix everything!
Raph clenched his fists and jaw, in a way Leo wasn't wrong they were all teammates and even if he was their leader he couldn't fix the problem just because he had that title.
- Well...I'll talk to him later...
Leo nodded before jumping when a laugh a little too loud for his liking pierced his eardrums. Donnie was indeed not the delicate type and not making fun of his discretion, he sneered in a suave voice before looking at Leo, intrigued by their little discussion which had put him in all these states, a first for Leo who was always so calm and unfailingly impassive.
- Oulala~ but it's that our little poodle Nardo is turning into a real wolf~ why so much rage after a perfectly accomplished mission? Was it all the bloodshed that didn't please you, little wolf cub?
Donnie always took pleasure in giving ridiculous nicknames or making inappropriate allusions when addressing his twin, although over the years this hardly affected Leo, much to Don's chagrin. Reason why he now attacked Mikey, prey so much weaker and reactive to his spikes.
Leo rolled his eyes, still appalled at his brother who kept acting like a jerk. He knew well that during their childhood of the four Donnie was the one who had suffered the most from their intense training, Draxum had pushed him to the limit which had ended up developing this sadistic and violent side in him.
Leo almost regretted those years when they were still simple children, innocent and fragile, discovering the softness and the beauty of the world...but that time was long gone.
He plunged his golden gaze back into the deep turquoise of his brother's.
- The "wolf" has no explanation to give you since this has nothing to do with you...
Donnie smiled faintly, that smile which always announced a pre-prepared blow, a violent or inappropriate gesture...
- Since when do you like my little nicknames Rosie?
