The constant hubbub associated with multiple smells, each more dubious than the other, caused Leo a headache. He had let his brother slip away after their fight and hadn't seen him since. They had been there for about fifteen or even twenty minutes. The waitresses and even the barman haven't been of great help to him... apart from a few misplaced proposals or categorical rejections he had obtained nothing...And having no idea what his dumb brother was doing increased those worries and headaches.
His other brothers still hadn't joined them...another problem added to the long list of the cause of that brain-grinding headache, impossible to think straight or logically when your ears are ringing, your eyes can't focus clearly, that everything looks like an illusion, a bad dream. That's it ! it must just be a nightmare, he was going to wake up! A slim hope that was quickly dissolved when a friendly tap on his shoulder brought him back to reality.
Leo turned his head, his two golden pearls focusing on that hand that was resting on his shoulder. His gaze went up to the face of that same person, it took a few seconds for Leo's eyes to clearly see that face. He recoiled quickly when he realized that a stranger had dared to touch him. Immediately on his guard he turned around, his hands on his katana ready to draw them.
But his gesture was stopped short when he realized that it was a young woman. He was surprised to not got further in his gesture, he had never been taught not to hit a woman, they had received intense training, had been prepared for any eventuality... but there he could not taking it out on someone who just tapped him on the shoulder... plus he wasn't in good shape, his head was still hurting, best not to open the fight...
The woman stared at him with a little smile, she wasn't even surprised or scared. Leo looked her up and down, it was a small lizard of coral blue, a few scales of different blue shades under her chestnut brown eyes, her eyelids dusted with a bit of cyan blue that was shining and reflecting the colored lights of the room.
She didn't look like an evil person, or even one of the waitresses...not understanding her intentions or her presence next to him, Leo frowned before making her understand that he didn't needed company.
- I'm probably going to be rude or mean, but I'm not here to make friends... if you don't have anything important to tell me, you can go somewhere else!
She looked at him with a slightly disappointed look, but her smile widened on her chubby little cheeks. she snickered in a soft voice, something Leo didn't hear with all the noise. She looked into His gaze as if she was trying to read him.
- I didn't come to joke or get closer to you... just to warn you...
Leo backed up a bit, both hands ready to draw his weapons if needed. A small growl emanated from his mouth. He was now more skeptical and wary, although she didn't seem dangerous...he preferred to stay on his guard. Their past experiences had proven that you should never trust appearances... He frowned more, trying to stay focused in all this mess.
-Sorry? its a threat ?
- N-no absolutely not... I just came to help you... well, to warn you
- To warn me of what exactly? I do not know you ! why would you help me..? Help a stranger?
- I have to do it... my conscience obliges me...
- Heh of course... as if I were going to follow the advice of a complete weirdo!
- At least wait until you know what...
-No! I don't care about your requests or your sordid hints forgot me!
When Leo turned to finally reach the exit, the little Lizard grabbed his wrist, preventing him from leaving.
It was a familiar situation... like some sort of deja vu... But it's the words that came out of that little mouth that put all of Leo's senses on alert.
