The sound of tableware is heard.
The air was tense, not a single soul speaking.

"𝙖𝙝𝙚𝙢" Someone started. My sister that was sitting on my left flinched slightly but kept her composure.

"𝙎𝙤..𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙞𝙨 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙙𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙮?"
My F̷a̷t̷h̷e̷r̷ asked. I looked up and watched as some slowly stopped eating, while the others stared at their food and remained quiet.

"𝐈'𝐦 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭, 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐫!" My M̶o̶t̶h̶e̶r̶ said smilling "𝐈'𝐦 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥, 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐤𝐢𝐝𝐬?" She asked, though it didnt really seem like a question. More of a statement.

Everyone stayed silent.

Until my brother spoke. "Indeed, infact the experiment I've been working on is going amazing" He says smugly. "Is that so?" My Father said excitement over his face. "Oh my! as expected of you b/n!" "I knew you could do it!"

That's how dinner went. My parents asking the things we've been doing the whole week, and praising us for it. Then proceeded to say how we are doing better than 'that good for nothing brother of yours'.

Once a week, all my family members must attend our family dinner. During the dinner, you are asked questions about what you've been doing, and what you've accomplished during the past week.

It's annoying.

I stared at my ceiling, headphones on, listening to K. by Cigarettes After Sex. I sighed. I had nothing better to do, so I just layed on my carpeted floor listening to music.

For a few moments the world went quiet. But of course it didnt last long, when my sister and brother started arguing. A lot of yelling were made. Seriously can't everyone just shut up?

I stood up from my laying postion, putting my headphones on my desk. I grabbed a coat and went out, ignoring my siblings on the way.

Dried leaves were crunching beneath my shoes as I walked down the sidewalk. Walking around aimlessly, I saw a flash of white in my far-peripheral vision.

I stopped in my tracks, quickly turning my head to look at what it was. I saw nothing..?

That cant be. I swear I saw something. 'Ah..am I hallucinating again? I did take my pills though, did I not?' I thought furrowing my brows.

I rub my eyes looking around once more. Nothing. "whatever, i'll just go home and rest." I mumble to myself.

Taking one last glance. I saw something flash behind a tree. I ignored it and continues walking back ⱧØ₥Ɇ

Arriving back home. The place was quiet. Everyone must be in their rooms. Except for the low growls and howls of the 'animals' father kept.

Walking in my room, I locked the door after. Immediately collapsing on my bed. Falling into a dreamless sleep.
