Ryujin POV
As I hear the final bell ring signaling dismissal, I pack up my backpack and head straight to the classroom door. "Students! Don't forget your homework to turn in tomorrow!" My teacher shouts as I hear moan and groans from everyone around me. I personally don't mind homework but on the first day of me transferring? Ugh, what a drag. We all say okay and then finally exit the classroom. I pull my phone out my pocket, checking the time. It's 3:00pm. 'Mom said dad was picking me up' I thought as I make my way down the front of the school to wait for my dad. Walking around, I can't help but smile while looking at the students go to their lockers and exiting school. It feels nice to just be..involved and be able to grow up around kids my age. I want to make lots of good memories to replace my lonely and miserable past ones. I've been doing good at covering them up thanks to Ryeong hanging with me and now school work but, there is always that little voice that reminds me of Heejin. Shaking my head of those thoughts, I hear a angelic giggle to my right side. I didn't even notice I was already outside in the lawn. "Yeonjun! Stop!" Turning to my right, I see Yeonjun hugging Yeji from being while laughing into her neck. God, straight couples are disgusting. Yeji looks in my direction for a second and as we make eye contact, the world just stops fucking move. Like, slow mo from a romantic movie kind of shit. Is she real? Am I real? The hell is happening? "Ryu! Lets go lets go lets go!" I snap my head to my dad who is looking at me from the rolled down passenger window, honking repeatedly. He must've been there for awhile. "Coming!" I say as I run to the car.
—————————————————————————
"We're home!" I loudly yell as me and my dad enter thru the front door. My mom peaks her head around the kitchen. "Welcome home. I'm just making some snacks so come get some!" Yum! Ready to get a head start on the snacks, I hear loud thuds coming down the stairs. I turn to see my sister looking at me, equally excited upon hearing the word snacks. We both send a playful smile and run to kitchen to see who will get there first. Which will be me of course. "Hey! No running in the house!" My dad says as he's left in the dust by the front door. Being first, I pick up my mocha bread that I missed very much. They didn't have this in Malibu. I glance at my sister who is sulking but also eating her bread as well. I ruffle her hair and tell her "Love ya little one." and then as I head upstairs to work on school, yelling a quick thank you to my mom.
—————————————————————————
"Aish! Language is so easy but also so difficult." I say as a big sigh escapes my lips. I've been working what seems like forever but in reality it's been an hour. Considering I've done enough work, I put my books and papers in my backpack to call it a day. 'It's only 6?' I thought as I looked at my phone. Since I'm bored, I'll guess I'll go to the convenience store to just get some snacks and maybe just to walk around. Deciding on that, I put on my sneakers and jacket since it is a bit chilly out and head out my room. Going down the stairs, I see my mom and dad watching tv. "Hey I'm going out to the store. Be back in a bit." I tell them as I look in the mirror near the front door, adjusting my jacket. My mom nods at me and tells me to be careful as I step out the door.
—————————————————————————
The store is not that far, only a few blocks away. I close my eyes as I walk slowly, enjoying the cold breeze on my skin. I've always loved winter. I get super warm easily thanks to my body temperature so I don't ever get too cold in the winter, as to why it's my favorite season. What could make this moment any better? Music of course. Putting my earbuds,  I open my phone and press my music app. Apocalypse by Cigarettes After Sex plays.

"You leapt from crumbling bridges"
"Watching cityscapes turn to dust"
"Filming helicopters crashing"
"In the ocean from way above"

Singing with a smile, as I walk to the store. If you ever to ask me what happiness is, this is one of those moments for me.
—————————————————————————
Yes! I finally arrived to the store. Walking in, I'm greeted by a older woman behind the checkout counter. She sends me a warm smile. "Welcome in." I bow and a mutter a quick thank you. My first stop is of course, the bread aisle. I need my mocha bread ASAP. Grabbing a big bag in hand, I head to the cold drink. "Mmm what to have...what to have." I say with serious ryujin thinking activated. I decide on some 2 green tea's since it's on sale and head to the counter to pay. I'm just browsing on my phone trying to find a different song when I hear the girl in front of me say something. "Aish! I don't have enough change. I'm sorry let me put something back." I heard her say. Wait. I've heard that voice before. I honestly couldn't forget it even if I tried. Yeji. I look up and sure enough, it's the angel herself. She starts grabbing what seems to be 2 bags of chips but I hurriedly go up to her and stop her as I put my hand on her wrist. She gives me a confused expression and me there like an idiot, just staring at her for god knows how long. Clearing my throat, I finally found some god damn words. I look at the old lady and say "Don't worry. I'll pay for her and put my stuff up here as well." I said as I put up all my snacks on the counter. I hear Yeji say to me "What? No it's fine. I don't want to trouble you." Looking down at floor as she talks to me. Aw she's embarrassed! I wave my hand dismissing her statement because everything is already paid for. Snacks and drinks in hand, we walk out and say thank you to the old lady.
—————————————————————————
"Thank you but you didn't have to do that." We are now sitting on the curb of the store, eating the snacks I just bought. "It's fine. Not like it's gonna burn a hole in my pocket." I said as I look thru my bag, getting my bread. Unwrapping it out the wrapper, I take a bite and close my eyes, moaning in this wonderful pleasure of this bread. I hear Yeji laugh at look at her, forgetting she was there. I look away because I'm embarrassed! God why did I make that noise! "You must really love mocha bread huh?" She says as she's eating her chips, still laughing. I look at her "I had it a few hours ago but if I could have it everyday, I would." I say with the most serious face I can muster. We both look at each other for a second and then burst out of laughter. We both looked so stupid but it was a fun stupid. Minutes have passed and it's hitting 7pm. It's starting to get a little colder due to the sun being completely down. I wonder if Yeji lives around here. Should I walk her home to make sure she gets there safe? It's the lease I can do for her. I look in her different and see she's rubbing her arms up and down, trying to get warmth. Acknowledging this, I take off my jacket and drape it around her shoulders. She flinched out of shock and then look at my jacket that's now on her. "Thank you." She says with a cute smile, making her dimple pop out. God that smile is so lethal! Put it away! "Won't you be cold then?" She turns to me, now putting on my jacket. I shook my head "Nah. I'm pretty much a human heater. I'll live." She nods and takes out her phone, looking at the time. "Ah, I should get home and you should too. Sorry for keeping you so late." She says as she's gathering her things in a hurry. I do the same as well. "Nah no problem. You were fun to chill with. Let me walk you home." I tell her as we both stand up from the curb. "Okay, let's go!" Yeji exclaims.
—————————————————————————
We both walk in silence with only our footsteps and our bags rustling in the wind inducing noise. 'Let's see if she will she want to listen to music' I thought as I pull out my earbuds. I put one in my left ear and reach out to her with my right ear bud. She looks at me with a small smile and puts it in her right ear. With that, I find a song to play. Sweater Weather by The Neighborhood plays.

"And all I am is a man"
"I want the world in my hands"
"I hate the beach but I stand"
"In California with my toes in the sand"

She starts humming to the song as well. I look at her shocked, thinking she wouldn't know who this is. "You like The Neighborhood?" I ask looking at her. "Yeah. I love them." She tells me, leaving me again shocked. She's just got even more angelic in my book! We hum the rest of the song, still heading to her house.
—————————————————————————
"Well, this is me. Thanks for today. What's your name by the way? We go to school together but never asked." She looks at me with a shy face. "Ryujin. And you're welcome. Was fun." I tell her and give her a smile. It truly was refreshing to be with her. "Nice to meet you Ryujin. I'm Yeji. I didn't get to introduce myself cuz I was trying to get my friend away from you before he beat your ass." She said as she started to giggle. Cute. "Thank you for saving my ass from him. My life savior!" She lets out a loud laugh which sounds so beautiful, piercing in my ears. I would do anything to hear it again. "Yeah he's a asshole. Anyways, thank you again. I'll wash your jacket and return it to you at school tomorrow." She tells me. "No need to return or wash it! You can keep it. I got plenty." I assure her because honestly I'm nervous for her to talk to me at school. Ryeong told me she was a popular girl so I don't want her to get shit from people talking to me or more like.. I don't want to get shit on by her boyfriend. "Shut up, I'm doing it. I gotta go now. Thanks again! Bye Ryujin!" She yells and waves at me as she runs into her house. I wave back and leave with a smile that's most likely ripping my face apart. I start heading home. Lets see what tomorrow brings.
